Layering with 2L Hard Shell

Anyone have a recommendation on mid-to-light weight to wear under a 2L hard shell? Looking for something with a full zipper.

Been wearing a Columbia mid-weight fleece that gets too hot and is bulky.

Trying to avoid a vest as all my base layer is fairly thin versus say an Under Armor compression mock.

I usually wear a good technical base layer (warmth depending on the temperature), then a regular hoodie. Never had any issue. If I'm touring I'll ditch the hoodie for a more technical mid-layer like a fleece or something.

Exactly what I do. When I'm really cold I'll wear a smaller crewneck under my baggier hoody. Usually rock the Under Armour Base 2.0. Skiing in Wisconsin btw.
