Laurent Favre's Cork 180! Ridiculous!

lets get this argument rolling. no such thing as a cork one. he wasn't even off axis. not even close to cork. not hating on favre all that was sick but its just not possible to do a cork one.

You need your eyes checked :P

i mean, the guy was laying flat out corked...if he had of spun a 360 on that angle everyone would be claiming its a cork 3...so why not a cork 1?

nope he did the same thing adreas did in his joss edit. pulled his legs up so it looks like he's off axis. then falls back onto his feet. he may have gone a bit off axis but he didnt spin back onto axis like in a true cork. the way his carve shot him off the jump made him come back onto axis instead of spinning back.

don't mean to bag on you by any means dude I'm just saying at some point we're going to have to sit back and appreciate things of this nature as opposed to breaking them down to frightening degrees, all that aside the non-hat part of your signature reminds me of me

ooooh the glory days of NS when we debated if a 180 could be corked... this thread takes me back.

i just feel like if there is any controversy behind whether something is or isnt than it definitely isn't. in my eyes anyway. i suppose you can say its corked but i just don't think it is.

i am bumping this because i have a question. yesterday i am claiming that i did a cork 1, totally on accident the scariest thing in the world, thought i was going to eat shit. it was like a hand drag without the hand drag but off a jump if you can visualize it. i took the table top way too deep and i was pretty much sideways in the air. the only way i can think that i saved my self was by landing on one leg and just pulling myself out of it. there is a picture but its right as i was going off the jump so its not gonna show the whole thing. so can someone just tell me the proper term for what i did?

yea that sounds good. i thought i was done, overshot it by alot and i thought i was gonna land on my side. some how i pulled my self out of it. i wish there was a pic of it though. i dont plan on doing it again so i dont think there will be a pic

I understand Lolo is the man, but why are we talking about this? It's old news. I'm more interested in his screamin cork spins now

I've been trying this trick for the last two years, its pretty hard, the landing is weird, you are so far up on your tips, I've face planted a few times from my tips giving out

In my eyes it definitely is. Like said above, it looks just like a corked 360 if you pause it at 90 degrees. So why can't we call this a cork 180? It is a 180 degree spin and he is clearly off axis. It isn't just his legs going, up his whole body is off axis, like on a cork 3.

From what I could tell the basket of his ski pole dragged across the jump as we carved off it so that probably gave the same effect a hand drag would without reaching down so far. Still an amazing trick but I am pretty sure the ski pole gave him enough kick in the other direction to get back on his feet.
