Laughing Gas

Has anyone gotten like their wisdom teeth pulled out or have some dental surgery done, and the dentist made you inhale laughing gas? Did it really mess with your brain or anything? was it all painless?

Its difficult to describe.

There is no ouch because naturally, its not just laughing gas your also frozen up so much you can feel your face. What the gas does is make you feel so giddy and light headed that you don't have a care in the worl and in dact, find it totally fucking awesome that your biggest molar just got splintered into three pieces by an inductrial size clamp and removed section by section from your gums.

You don't feel the pain because of the extensive freezing. It just takes away the feeling of revulsion.

If I were to make a suggestion I'd say absolutly go gas. Its a blast. I had fun getting my wisdom teeth out. It was only after the freezing wore off at home that it sucked.

whoa...i just had the wierdest thing happen to me(like any of you care), but anyways, i was looking at the name of this thread and just started cracking up really hard because of the name of it.

but yah when you get laughiing gas it just makes you like not even care about anything and your sorta like really just out of it and happy and lalalala...

they gave me two little pills and i felt like i was just really stoned... and then i went to sleep and woke up about 10 minutes before they finished to hear "i think we need to crack this tooth."

good luck...i think you would rather be put under.

yeah when i got my wisdom teeth out they put me on laughing gas before they put the iv in; so i was on it for like 5 mins nothing yet and they are like ok we are gonna put it in your arm soon so i just inhale it like crazy and i start feeling real high; then i saw them put the iv in i felt it but just care, then i felt the water going in my veins (it was weird)

i was given laughing gas when i had an infection in my cheek that they had to drain.. and it did nothing for me, basically they had to use a ratchet to crank my mouth open enough to get inside and it was still the most pain ive ever been in

they gave me general anestesia for getting my actual wisdom teeth out (the infection came about a week later) and it was great like stuff just went blurry then i was out and woke up 2 hours later and didnt remember a thing and actually felt pretty good for the next few hours and wasnt in pain until the evening

how old are you? sucks that your parents are making that decision for you, laughing gas puts you out of it to an extent but will not do much if you're getting wisdom teeth out... going under I.V. is the way to go. You should discuss anesthetics with the dentist, voice your concerns and have him talk to your parents too.

good luck with the wisdom teeth...

they do a shitload of things to make sure it won't happen to you. maybe ask them to perform some extra things to make sure you are okay to get anesthesia...
