Whoah. I hope he gets to see how many people have been absolutely lost at the thoughtmof a world without him. Pulling for this.

I was thinking that. In his position, that would be cool to see.

And I really really really hope he gets to. Stay with us guys!

praying and hoping beyond all hope that JP and andreas are alive.

Also, I would die a happy man if I could hear JP say "News of my death has been greatly exaggerated". Please God?

I'm afraid this may be the end of the story. Although I haven't heard confirmation back from Iannick since an hour or so ago. He's been offline and I'm sure everyone wants to be left alone if this the truth and deal with the news.

I'll still update here once I get final word back.

None of the reports I'd read had said anything official about recovery. This one says that the bodies were recovered, indicating that the unthinkable is indeed true.

Still hoping for something more from you, Felix. Thank you for keeping us in the loop.

Vibes, thoughts, hopes, and love.

It has been confirmed via this page that was just updated 5 minutes ago. JP Auclair and Andreas Fransson have been found dead. Sad news, RIP Guys!

I never really thought of JP as a person vulnerable to death. In every video I've watched where's he's eaten shit, he usually ends up smiling and joking, and continuing to slay afterwards. He always was, to me, an immortal, badass Québécois rebel, who's influence on freeskiing was felt over multiple generations, from early park skiers to current pow and back country shredders. He influenced so many prolific skiers who have only benefitted form knowing him.

When I watched Andreas' short film "Tempting Fear" I was blown away by how one could live such an insane lifestyle, tempting death every day, climbing steep, icy terrain with skis on your back and crampons on your boots. At the time, I didn't get that what Andreas was doing was extraordinary. Rejecting the normal way of doing most everything, choosing to do what he wanted, his way, and living as fulfilled a life as any awe-inspiring Swedish man ever has.

I like the saying by Banksy that goes, "They say you die twice. One time when you stop breathing and a second time, a bit later on, when somebody says your name for the last time.”

In that sense, I can say with absolute conviction that these two legendary gentlemen will never die, and the inspiration they carried within themselves and spread to countless others, across the globe, will live on as long as people have the urge to ski. As long as individuals decide to reject the normal way to live, not trying to live for the sake of living, but instead embracing life in the moment, and living for the sake of experiencing life, and enjoying every aspect of it, both good and bad.

Jean-Philipe Auclair, Andreas Fransson, congratulations. For you have left behind the status of "icons" and have been bestowed the title "Legends."

I'm also not one to pray but this time I am praying for the lives of these two they are such an inspiration JP was one of the people that made me start free skiing I hope they make it out good vibes sending out to them #legendsnever #prayforjpandandreas

I hope one day I get to meet JP thoughts and prayers.

And if hey saw them in the helicopter why didn't they just fly down and help them

If it is true, which I choose not to believe, can we not make "rip JP" stickers? I think since he is the reason we are where we are today we should make "Thank you JP" stickers. Anyways. Just a thought. I'm still in denial anyways

Another great name lost to the snow. Prayers to the family and friends, and ofcourse the man himself. He died doing the thing he loved to do, but it came way to soon

This brought tears so my eyes.

These men died doing what they love, I cannot imagine that they could have died happier.

I hope there are some fucking awesome lines in heaven for them to shred.

SIP.

In complete shock right now. Can't believe they're actually gone. SIP and thanks for all of the inspiration and memories.

Wow. Sending love to their families. JP was one of the nicest guys I'd ever met. You guys will be missed.

Thank you so much legends.

"You cannot truly live until you no longer fear death."

This it the motto that both JP Auclair and Andreas Fransson have lived their lives by. They lived to the fullest, defying death everyday they conquered the vast mountains they skied on. They deserve the utmost respect, as they truly are examples for pursing your dreams and doing what you love. It is only right in the end that they were taken by the mountains, which they have formed a powerful bond with, perhaps a little too early. These two men will forever inspire skiers everywhere.

SIP

So sad... Thanks for your time Félix Rioux to keep us concern.

J'ai eu la chance de lui parler une seule fois, j'ai encore un poster qu'il a eu la gentillesse de signer en 2011. j'étais tellement content que je l'avait fait laminer.

A truly passionate skier... that inspired us

Full support for the 'Thank you JP' stickers.. Just the other day I was telling friends about the rarity of losing the best of the best pro athletes and how it rocks a community when it does happen. Thoughts are with their families and friends.
