Late Season A-Basin

There are other threads asking how the park is in late april but I'm coming out May 5 for some skiing and was wondering how the park is? How is the snow conditions overall? Hows the parking lot camping scene? Is there somewhere near the base I can plug in my computer for a couple hours each night to get some work done like a lodge thats open after the skiing closes for the day? Thanks to anyone who throws up some info

Ton of snow these days...we have something like 150% of normal snowpack this year.

Park gets worse and worse (less features/maintenance) as the year goes on but they'll have a few booters and rails for sure....plenty of fun stuff on the mountain too.

Pretty sure they don't let you camp in the lots anymore, almost positive they don't in fact so you might have to head down to Frisco/Silverthorne.

parking lots will be crowded, the mountain wont be...little more people actually skiing on weekends but even then they start beach partying after about 1.

It would be a huge shame if it didn't.

Last year I watched some guy search for his skis (after double ejecting) for literally 30 minutes, standing waist deep in that water the whole time.

any one doing the huck and role comp they have this satuday. il probably be there competing

Slush?......Uhh....It's like mid-season conditions right now. I was there 2x this week, almost everything is open, and with GREAT coverage. On Monday, I was skiing pow.
A few "parks" still setup....believe there is a slope comp this weekend actually. Any way, the "big" line is a barely up flat box...almost like a baby cannon, into 2 jumps, maybe 20 ft? 15? alongside that there is a jib line setup with some stuff: dub barrel down into a rainbow with multiple angles, a few skinny boxes with various kink combinations, and some smaller stuff. There's also like a baby park with a 6ft. jump and a few mellow jibs.
A bay is a blast right now. I mean....it sucks, stay away.

it's definitely not mid-winter like anymore. I did loveland and abay today and it was slushy to the max. not saying it hasn't been sick tho... loveland's park is looks sick for closing weekend, good job ian!

Hmm...well then things have changed drastically in 2 days because Wednesday was not in the slightest slushy, not even at the base. In any case, the skiing is still great and not at all a slushy mess up top.

no it's definitely not like some years where the whole run is ice chunks from the previous days slush. good stuff

I'll be heading over from Vail a couple times this week. Haven't skied since the week after Vail closed.

Me and a buddy are heading over from Vail tomorrow. Probably leaving around 9. Let me know if anyone's going to be there. I'd love to have someone show me around, since I haven't been there in years. I'll be riding Line Anthem's, purple pants, grey jacket, black helmet. My buddy will be snowboarding. If you see me, stop me and say hi!

Def will be a bomba day for sure. I will be in blue northface and yellow saga pants, day 133 here i come! Kong cliff hittable early maybe??

Yesterday, the park was the same as it's been for the last week. But I heard rumors that they're taking out the mini park this week.

dont really care about the mini park just makin sure there are still some rails up in treeline and maybe a small jump when me and my homie come out there wednesday!
thanks man +k for the info!
