Alright, so i am "dating" this girl, she said that we are not together but we are seeing each other. We have been like since thanksgiving. She and i haven't exchanged christmas presents because she was on vacation and then my trip over lapped hers.
She knows i am really into skiing and she knows a considerable amount for only skiing like 5 times in her whole life. Two days ago we were talking and she dropped some pretty big hints that she got me the gopro HD hero. A three hundred dollar gift! I on the other hand have a 70 dollar jersey and a few other SMALL things.
My question for you guys is... am i OBLIGATED to get her some more stuff, or am i cool? I think i might try and do some thing sentimental? extra brownie points... any ideas for that too?

Spark notes. Not dating girl buys 300 dollar gopro, i have spent less than 100... am i good?
 
if you guys werent even dating i wouldnt think youre obligated to get her something so expensive.

also, who the spends $300 on someone they arent even in a relationship with? thats like half a months rent. or a car payment. five tanks of gas. groceries.

this is assuming you guys are like 17-20. if you are adults with money to blow then you should spend more.

 
Nope, she's 24 a dental assistant and I am 21 and in my last semester of college. The real world is where i live my good sir.

It's simple, just get something that sparkly. It looks expensive, but it isn't. I got a girl one of those womens level 1 tees. I didn't spend much cause it wasn't really going anywhere. And it didn't, before the t-shirt came in. She got it anyways, and was happy.

In your case though, I really don't know. It shouldn't something that is the matter of price. Should be thought instead. If she wants to drop big money on you, that's understandable, but she should also understand that you have to pay for school (?). Don't feel obligated.
