Last min trip to Sunshine Village this weekend… lookin for tips

I’m not down with payin $80 for a car camp spot in Banff, can I crash in my car in Canmore?

im trying to do this trip with just lift ticket, food and gas costs. I don’t have a sub zero sleeping bag but I figure worst case scenario.

if anyone could give me a rundown that’d be great

What rating is your bag?

Sleeping in your car isn't necessarily a replacement for a sleeping bag, it can still get really cold (assuming it's cold at night when you go). If you have a good amount of warm clothes and blankets you should be more than fine though

Ya I learned this the hardway in Leavenworth. Fell asleep in a Safeway parking lot at like 11:30pm with just a blanket on and woke up an hour later uncontrollably shivering lol.

put on all my base layers and got in my sleeping bag and was fine rest of the night. Had just drove 18+ hours and wasn’t thinking straight when I stopped for the night. Will never make that mistake again cause I have a feeling if my body didn’t wake me up I’d have died.

yea just find some quiet spot in canmore is probably your best bet. or ive seem ppl car camp in some of the pullouts along the highway with an outhouse but might get kicked out by the fish cops or park ppl, idk how much they care about this

should be fine with that bag this time of year its not very cold

Cool thanks

You can sleep in your car in the Banff train station parking lot. It's loud af but you won't get in shit. You can also park behind the Safeway/Save-on in Canmore, there's also tons of side streets in Canmore where you should be fine as long as you leave quite early in the morning.

Yea Safeway seems to be the move, good looks
