its actually a resort in argentina.

check out the thread i just made called South America Snow Sessions.

the spanish isnt that bad down there either, just brush up on some stuff and youll get by.

go in august too

ive been... such a good time.. its so worth it.. everything you would ever enjoy is down at that place... snow, people, parties, good food, "chicas", great exchange rate

def goin back

Sickest mountain. 22000 acres of treeless skiing. Money exchange is 3 to 1. But soo isolated. Try Barriloche for night life and skiing.

i was there last summer, its awesome and is a great place to party! lots of back country and hot chicks!! My favourite place in South America was Portillo, its small but the terrain is sick!

my dads an argentinian immagrant, I need to visit the motherland sometime, it looks sooooooooo sick down there, plus I have free timeshare.

i lived in bolivia for 3 months, and like nobody speaks english there, but more people will speak english at the resorts. But, definitely try speaking spanish with the locals, they really appreciate it and the people are really accepting if you try a little bit to speak in spanish and just be courteous and have respect

bolivia is a very diferent than Chile and Argentina... in argentina you will not have any trouble if you don't speak any spnish and in chile too...

true true.. although it would be good if you speak some spanish for socializing and stuff.. i am argentinian and i live in the capital but ive always been to bariloche (cerro catedral) and never to las leñas but i heard they have a decent park in las leñas and the snow is awesome.. still in bariloche ive always had an amazing time and the people is just awesome, although the park kinda sucked last year they had only like 1 small jump badly built lol and 10 rails which was kinda cool and they created a pretty big kicker (like 30 feet) but only for a comp later it was closed..

and i would recomend portillo if you dont want park skiing cause last time i went there was no park at all and building jumps is not allowed anywhere in the mountain, as well as in bariloche or las leñas, but u might be able to get away with a kicker if no one sees you.. and portilo is way too small but the hotel has great service and there are a lot awesome people to meet, adn yes it is in chile.. im gonna go check out http://www.sasnowsessions.com/.. im soo stoked about this upcoming season! i hope the park at catedral is improved and please god give me jumps!

yea i know, ive been to chile as well. But, it helps if you can speak some spanish because people do appreciate it and you can communicate better. But, if you don't speak spanish dont worry about it at all, you'll be fine. Resorts always try to attract foreigners so some people will speak english

yeah like it's always cool when somebody comes and tries to speak spnish and learn, but last year a girl from switzerland came here and we became really good friends and she didn't spoke a word of spanish and learned like only 10 words in 4 months so don't worry about that...
