I think the most of you guys know that he got hurted bad this winter in Mammoth, but does someone knows how's he now?

he overshooted a big kicker in Mammoth las season and he broke his back or something like that

such a good skier too, if im not mistaken he overshot a table onto his back and is now paralyzed, its a super sad story and best wishes to him

I'm sorry guys, but I think he's totally fucked. The guy is lucky if he even walks again. He was an awesome skier, could have become great. Really sad story.

i thought it was on a small table or something, so he just hit it like way too fast and was just trying like a misty or something. Either way i hope he's alright.

pDandoy, please don`t say you think he is totally fucked up, have some respect. I met him the other day, and he is still in his chair, but training every single day to recover, he`s never going to give up, he pushes himself hard. He can move his right foot, not the left yet. He has also operated a plate in his neck, less movement in that area. Hopefully he will able to walk again, he is such a great guy and i wish him the best of luck...

 
I didn't mean it as anything negative about him, I feel incredibly sorry for the guy.

like hendrik said, the last big thing we've heard was that he could wiggle his right toes. hes driving a car with the acceleration and brakes on the steering wheel, and his drive for recovery is greater than anyone on this sites drive to go skiing. Lars is an incredible person, with such a unique style. i dont think many people appreciate how good he was, and how good he will be

wait, so was he only paralyzed from the waist down? i thought that it was from the neck so this is good news to me. best of luck lars, you killed it.

obviously you didnt read all the replys...last everyone heard lars was just starting to regain feeling/movement in his right toes/foot. right now he drives his car with all the acceleration/braking controls on the steering wheel.

i mean i hope that hes gonna skiing again and maybe at his old level. but i think if the infos you guys got are true, he prob would appreciate just the fact of being able to walk again. So bad... Good luck Lars... Hope your becoming healthy again.

Lars is still in the chair, but working hard on his rehab. This injury is not of a kind where you just get fresh overnight. Or at all. It´s just too early to say, but I would be very glad - and positively surprised - if I ever see Lars walking again. His mood and motivation is unbelievably positive, though, typical Lars-style.

The accident happened in Mammoth in December 2004 while shooting for Teddybear Crisis, but I didn´t see a single credit to Lars in the TBC movie or the rolltext. At least Rostrup and Ostness could have created something as a tribute to Lars in the movie, but there were absolutely nothing. Really bad, you ask me. Lars deserves more than that. When I watched TBC, it seemed like they just had forgotten about him and spent half the movie on Tanner instead. Lars Veen will forever be The Man. Period.
 
I agree he had a nasty part in NASM, I really really liked his 720 tweaked safety, simple but amazing trick that I wish I could recreate with such finesse, I hope he is able to walk again, all these injuries lately are sucking

But still Rostrup and Ostness "forgot" to mention Lars Veen in TBC, not even a single line in the Credits. That sucks almost just as much. Lars had definitely deserved at least a sentence or a second.

i know, but making a own segment about tanners crash, that they could do, but to wish lars good luck and saying some nice words in the credits, no that wasnt do able, lars have had the best segments in all of rostrups films i have seen him in. (the scanners and NASM)
