I have an hp ze4560us. Its ok but not great. I would rather have an apple. Maybe I'll upgrade this year.

i work at an IT place that repairs and does netqworking on my college campus, dells are the computers that we see the most oftern, the HP. IM not a fan of dell, it is WAYYY over pricede for what you get.

if you were going to get a notebook DONT GET THAT ONE!! unless you arnt going to go very far with it. it's over 10 pounds and that is like carrying a brick. if you want more help just pm me.

i just got a dell 6400 with centrino dual core. its pretty rad. highly recommended. got a few upgrades, shipped for 1300. i think it was a pretty good deal. then again i know people who know people so got 30% off.

yeah dude. if your getting a laptop get a mac. i love my desktop for gaming and stuff, but if i ever get a notebook for school its definitally gonna be a mac.

i have a built gateway desktop for gaming and normal use, but im prolly getting a mac laptop for next yr to go along with my gatway in my dorm.

Not a big fan of Hp's, or Dell's for that matter. And my gateway has slowly declined from it's glory days, I need to get a Apple.

If you dont know what you want go to the dell website and you find one you might like you can have it completely customized. Personally i have a sony Vaio with linux operating system on it

www.cnet.com

i've found this site to have really ubiased and complete reviews....

i was planning on getting a macbook pro for college, but after reading the reviews on this website, i've decided against it. im considering the Lenovo thinkpad x60s - that bitch can get 8 hours of battery life.

wait until apple puts the intel chips into the iBook, and then buy that (or get the mac book pro if money doesn't matter). apple have a new thing called bootcamp that lets you run windows XP on the new intel macs.

i think what you all dont realize is that its not the brand that matters, its whats inside the computer that matters. Fore example i have a dell(semi lowend model), but it has one of the fastes dvd burners on the market, an ATI radeo 9800 graphics card, over a GB of ram, 200 GB harddrive, plus other features that are not standered for any company, but are offered by all.

you are very correct, but most ppl dont like dell is cause they over charge for what you get. a gateway with BETTER options was aboutt 750 cheacp than the dell

i have a desktop rather than a laptop, so i can see where you are coming from, but i hate it when people say that certain companys have bad computers because some idiot bought a 200 dollar modle and they used it. For example on kid at my school hates apples because the macs that we have at our school are slow. When i showed him our power macs in our video editing lab, his whole perspective changed on apples. NOt because of the brand, but rather the performance.
