Has anyone else heard about the terrain park being built at Hawk Island?I have been hearing rumors about this for awhile now, but I saw on their facebook page pictures of them building a new sledding hill + snowboarding complex. I was told by a MSU ski club member that they are planning to put in at least one tow rope and several features. Just wondering if anyone had more info on this?

This would be so sick and are you on State ski club? I'm on the ski team but thinking about joining the ski club too.

its in the works..both modern and summit sports are working on rails and box features. It will have a rope tow and i think open 7 days a week. should be open this winter.

That is really cool, I'm pretty excited about it. Yeah I am in SSC, you should join it is way to much fun. I can help you out if you need just pm me.

I stopped over there after class, spoke with one of the guys moving dirt. Said they plan to have it open Dec 7. Also it looks pretty good sized. Do you know what kind of features Modern and Summit are working on?

ya man this gonna be sick im so stoked. do you know a kid names wes? just curious cause he said he went to meet those guys with a kid named josh.

I'm guessing we are talking about the same Wes, he and I went over and checked it out. It is gonna be an awesome set up.

There is gonna be Djs spinning, 50/50 raffle, priZe giveaway, food, other misc games, and a rail jam. Free entrance to the park from 1-5 this Saturday. We can use the support check out the details on hawk island parks snowpark fb page.

Oh I was told to restate the claim of rail jam... There will be a few features to ride however it will not be a comp format it's just for fun

I have been hearing a lot about this too lately. Im excited since there is nowhere else to go like it less than an hour away. I am also in SSC I would suggest anyone who hasn't joined you to do it! so much fun. Anyone going to Breckenridge?

Awesome.

The best we had when I was at State was to hike the Ranney Park hill by Frandor and jump over picnic tables.

Just heard about this today. This is the first time I've ever been excited to live in the Lansing area. This is gonna be so much better than paying 30 dollars and driving to Brighton.
