Landscaping job

hey guys i was wondering if any of you have worked landscaping jobs before? last summer i worked at a golf course and it was sick, being outside all the time, i don't mind early hours at all, and the work wasnt too hard. this year i need to make a little more money for university so im looking for something a little harder work but still outdoors and pays more. is landscaping a good call? i made 8$ an hour last summer i think i could pull off 8.50 an hour if i worked the golf course again. something like 10 an hour would be nice though. im not really sure how much landscaping workers make though... and what the conditions of a job like that are...

+++karma for good tips. anything helps thanks a lot.

I live in Canada, and I've had friends who've worked landscaping jobs, and they say they pay really really well, it's also a good workout, haha

you can easily make 10 an hour landscaping but its goin to be a ton of hard work. it can be fun sometimes but other days just suck so bad, like i f you need to move rocks to build a wall all fuckin day long. but if your up for hard physical work i say give it a shot. it well deff be harder then the golf corse but you will make more money and get in super good shape.

I love my landscaping job, I can make up to $14 an hour depending on the job, plus I get payed under the table and in cash. There is definitely alot of hard physical labor but you also get to be outside all day and you can just put in your ipod and enjoy the outdoors. Some days it really does suck tho, but overall I would say it is worth it.

I pretty much do landscaping in the summer, so I guess I'll chime in. The work is really hard, but you also learn a lot, so it's a pretty cool job. I know around where I live they pay around $12/hr or so, so it's pretty good money if you are willing to put in the hours.

I landscaped for two years and it couldn't have been a better job. first of all I was working with 3 of my best friends and we were pretty much our own crew so we didn't have any supervisors. second we got paid 12 bucks an hour. and lastly our boss usually just sent us to these houses that were just rich peoples second homes so no one lived there and we could just goof off and smoke weed.

now i work construction and i think its pretty badass. most the time you're outside, i was getting paid 15 an hour and i think i'll get a raise to 16 or 17 this year, and you get to use some fucking awesome power tools.

One of my friends did landscaping for a summer. He made 18$ an hour with no previous experience and by the end of the summer he was crazy tanned and ripped. The ladies love landscapers (alliteration, whoo).

i landscape..

lets put it this way, i drink 1 gallon of water.. and dont piss the whole day, because i sweat it out.

I ran my own lawn care and landscaping company during the summers when I was in highschool. When I was mowing I was making like 25 an hour and 15 an hour doing general landscaping. I grossed a lot but I didn't net a ton of cash cuz I spend like a fiend and alot of dough went back into buying new equipment and shit. but in the end I sold my customer list for a grand (that is yes just giving someone the oppotunity to mow for my previous customers) and My parents bought my big ass mower off me for 2 grand which was nice. I absolutely loved running my own company cuz it was all under the table, I worked whatever hours I damn well wanted, and it was just overall solid, plus it looks great on apps that you ran your own business. I would definitely suggest doing it to anyone. O and in the end I was mowing 25 lawns a week compared to when I started I was mowing 2 lawns and walking to and from with my little push mower. Sick job.

I mow lawns. Mostly at my camp but a few around my house. Usually i mow them once a week.

Most of them i charge about $20 per lawn so i get around $150 a week which isnt bad at all for a $15 year old

i work for a grass cutting/landscaping company in the summer. it's actually really nice. i get paid $10 per hour when cutting grass and $15 for when we do landscaping. usually just cut grass though, i weed eat like 8 hours per day but get paid for road time too so i make about $300 per week which is nice.

personally, i would say you should work construction. the work is really not much harder if at all, and you'll most likely get paid $18+ per hour.

did lanscaping all last summer...hard ass work. got 20$ an hour which is pretty damn good but be prepared for a buttload of hard labor. its deffinatly worth it for the money but its tiring.

im in canada btw.
