anyone else had this problem and what did u do to fix it? i'll throw one and then ill land way to forward and eat it or have a hell of a times recovering

dude this happened to me every time I landed switch for so long, so many double ejections haha

It's because its first nature for you to do that. much similar to how when you first start skiing you ski so far in the back seat because your body wants to do the opposite of what your skis are doing.

in other words its fear. subconcious fear. and once you can figure this out itll be much much easier.

Make sure you are forward on takeoff. In a rodeo you essentially land how how take off, so if you take off backseat you will land backseat/frontseat depending on switch or regular. If you think you have a good take off you are probably focusing on the landing too much. Once you spot your landing, try looking up the hill for the knoll of the jump (or even higher), this will bring your feet under you. It's also helpful to do rodeo 5's like this because it helps you get ready for 7's and 9's where you have to do that extra wrap around.

I have this exact same problem. Ive landed on my face a lot this season haha.

I think its due to the fact that i over-rotate the flip portion just a little bit.

I found when i threw the first couple of the day I would be fine, then as I warmed up i would throw a little too hard and land on my face. I'd say just try to relax and dont think too hard about the trick.

keep your eyes looking uphill when you land switch. i m guessing your looking down when you land, and that is causing your problem.

i think its more that im not doing enough flip and a bit too much spin for a 5 so its harder to get my feet under me does that make sense?

i think its both or one of two things: you set to much flip, or your not forward enough on the take off/slinging it too much.

I am kinda having the same problem, but its different. My first couple tries were rodeo 5s but now I cant do a 5 it automatically turns out as a 7. If i tried to just not spin the rest i would absolutely land on my face.

The same sort of landing leaning too far forward thing would always happen to me when i would do rodeo 5s when i was just learning them, but as soon as i started to hit my rodeo 7s it started to come out cleaner.
basically what i figured out or what helped me a lot is to try and seperate the flip and spin as much as you can, so that you can kind of shifty the 180 in. this helps a lot with not overrotating (bec i saw someone above me say that) and with spotting your landing earlier and in a more chill way so taht you can just bring it around to switch and stomp.

oh and bigger jumps help a lot because you have a lot more time

i only have that problem when i use my real buttery skis. They flex to much on the noses and i lean wayy forward. With my stiffer skis i never have that problem

Going huge helps a ton with Rodeo and flat 5's. Time is your friend. I also like to spot the landing early and then look uphill to set up a good landing.

forward boot pressure is pretty much the answer to every jumping issue in the history of jumping issues.

Set more flip less spin.
And the guy who said that you land how you take off is right - that goes for all tricks. Good thing to know for sure.
