Landing switch on teles

Yeah... you're going to have a hard time landing switch off of big air. It just doesn't really happen.

When it comes to jumps i have to believe if you can throw it on teles you can throw it on alpine gear with a bit of practice. If you are into this stuff, you should pick up some alpine gear because it will make you able to do a lot more.

yeah but alpine skiing isnt as fun for me as tele skiing so i was just wondering if there was any advice out there for landing switch

lipstick films is all tele in the park. they got switch take offs and landings dialed. there new movie is since we last spoke. if you tele, you would prolly really like it. you could contact them and ask em. just google it or somethin.

dont land leaning forward or you FUCKED, but seriously though....your probs gunna havta land perfect everytime

i know a lot of people that tele in the park and i think they have a binding that makes it easier to land switch, but i dont really know for sure

quite a few people do

and theres maybe one or two girls too. wait - one... the other one switcehd to alpine

i've seen some crazy good tele skiers in the park, they just seem to be the most naturally balanced people in the world. i kinda suck at telemarketing in the park though. it would be sick to land with a knee dropped a little bit though. or maybe really crank your springs down so if you land just slightly off they can help hold it together. otherwise landing perfectly over your feet with your head up and and your body wide and low seems like the only solution. + maybe bishop bombers?

Do you know how to tele switch? My friend does that and said that it helps if you're able to bend your knees into a tele turn as you're landing switch.

I don't drop my knee landing switch except for a last resort. Its basically the same as alpine, though I try to weight a little bit more over my heels I think (not too much or you get way out of control), and definitely stagger your feet. I usually try not to think about it, or else I do eat it. Sorry, that probably wasn't much help, I'm not very good at describing it. I just kind of do it.

well what bindings do you have?

i just lean foreward just a tad and when i am coming down i try and find a place where i really feel comfy and then if i fuck up i just lay my hands out flat and that helps me keep a little balance so its easier than u think practice by goin into a rail with some speed and come off hard switch and just get that dialed down

Heres how i like to land switch, when your coming around spot your rotation like normal, but try to lock one knee behind the other, i like to land in this position on the balls of my feet. this is a photo of my friend pete, see how he tucks his knee in giving him a solid base for a landing.

Note: this picture was taken of him skiing switch, not landing switch. it is however the general idea of what your going to want to do.

couldn't be more wrong. I've seen a tele skier stomp 5s on 50 footers and he says it isn't a big deal once you're used to it.

Yes but the point is that he could do way more shit on real skis. Buttering, nosepressing, Truckdrivers...etc.

yeah when i was first getting used to landing switch i would land then drop my right knee and if i was too far foward i was in a position to counter act that by reverting to reg. I also practiced hoping into switch on steep terrian, it helps you to figure out where your wieght should be. haha also practice skiing switch then dropping both knees so your knees almost touch your skis, ski like that for a couple seconds then try getting back up to regular. ive landed too foward then dropped both knees and popped back up... anyways good luck and where do you ski?

Are you serious?!?! you gotta get out more.... or at least get off your 360 and go outside.

Teles rip it in the park, simple.

To lang switch just stagger your legs and don't lean to far up hill. Its a delicate balance between leaning to far uphill and having too much weight downhill.

Try it on flat, then work your way up, you'll be fine.

Free the heel, free the mind
