Lake Tahoe

Another question...

As far as parks in the Tahoe area who

has the best park. And which resort

has the best benefits?

Alpine Meadows

Heavenly

Kirkwood

Mt Rose

NorthStar

Sierra Squaw?

Thanxxx

squaw and sierra when i was there, northstar seemed like it had a good progression thing. And it didnt seem like you could go wrong w/ boreal

Probably Northstar and Squaw. I know a few riders from Kirkwood, but they're all bigmountain freeskiers

Partly from my experience and from what I have heard,

Alpine has the best jumps/all around park, northstar/boreal for rails, squaw has good stuff but it gets going late in the season after the rediculous snow stops.

Unless your just going to do rails all the time and never ski and powder I really wouldn't recommend skiing exclusively at northstar(based on feedback from friends who live in northlake) It lacks the natural terrain that places like squaw, alpine, kirkwood ..etc have. I believe some Alpine passes are good at Boreal also(or used to be).

Also I wouldn't really make too many judgements from NS because a lot of the people commenting have never been to these places(myself included, never gone to northstar, but I have gone to alpine, squaw, and boreal)

n*=jibs and rails

apine shreadows= jumps and terrain

boreal=jibs and pipe

squaw=everything pretty much

and kirkwood so iv heard has epic pow....................all my opinion though

BOREAL! JEA!

Northstar is overatted way to crowded and gapered out.

Boreal is way more chill down to earth and is an awesome deal. Oh and they have the best night skiing.

The vibe at Nstar is completely wack too. Nothing is done in moderation, either 25 bandanas, 20xl clothing or striped Portland style everything. No one has their own style and all the kids in the crews think they are great when they are oh so mediocre. In summation, Nstar sucks, so does their freestyle team, housing costs, lift ticket costs, lift lines, terrain, park, park crew, rider crews and everyone even remotely associated with the resort. I am glad Snowqualime got sued so your park will have higher insurance rates, I am glad that the Ritz came in to ruin your mountain even more. Think you can hand out enough comped tickets and hotels to get the top terrain park this year? You just might make it if you can build a jump over 25 feet.

I love how someone is trying to get a legit answer and wants to know what is good for what and people are just commenting " northstar" "Kirkwood"... waste of a post, thats not helping anyone...

anyway, I skied squaw for the first time this year and thought it was pretty sick, lots of terrain and pretty good park but from what I heard from locals that I skied with, alpine has way better jumps, and apparently good big mountain too if you're willing to hike for a little bit

you're a piece of shit, snoqualmie's (no W) suit is being appealed based on the fact that there was nothing wrong with that jump unless you straightline from the top of the lift into it like that idiot did.

Take it from me I've skied all these places.

Northstar: The jibs and rails are fun and the lips are built well and maintained throughout the day. The jumps are a little lacking and I'm not that fond of them, I don't like the way they've been building them. The superpipe is also fun if you hit it in the morning before it gets carved to shit. The people talking shit on the attitude there are probably Bad lt. wearing gapers. All the locals that ride there are chill as long as you don't fuck around and get in everyone's way. Lots of gapers on the weekends. Too big a village for too small a resort.

Squaw Valley: Best terrain in Tahoe in my opinion. Epic powder days with first tracks almost all day if you know where to go. The passes are priced ridiculously though. The park and superpipe are fun when they finally get around to building the mainline park in late march/early april. Before that all you've got is the Riviera and Belmont parks, which get boring quick. My best skiing memories are from Squaw.

Alpine Meadows: Best jumps in Tahoe. The jibs are fun as well but not quite as good as Northstar's. Much better terrain than Northstar though. Epic powder days here as well. Not as many gapers as Northstar.

Kirkwood: I've only been here twice, so I can't give that informed of an opinion. The terrain was sick but the park wasn't much at all.

Boreal: Sick jibs, rails, and superpipe. They've stepped it up with their park crew. The jumps aren't quite as good as Alpine's but they're still fun. Runs are short and there's nothing here besides a park. If you just feel like taking park runs all day, this is the place to go.

Sierra: I've never really liked it. I had the double whammy pass last season and only went to Sierra once. The park was badly put together when I went so I didn't go back. Good tree skiing here though.

Heavenly: The best views in Tahoe. The terrains is sick as well, I really like Heavenly. The high roller park is fun and the jumps are good. South Shore soldiers also puts together a sick setup at Heavenly every March. I think I'm going to sign up for the next one. Gaper central though, all the idiots staying in the casinos go to Heavenly.

i didnt go to north star the last time i went but i went to sierra on the south shore and they had good park but not great steeps(avalanche bowl was cool though) i didnt see all the park because they closed the circuit or wahtever because of wind and snow. but sierra and nstar are owned by the same peeps and i heard northstar has awesome park and like a burton bc thingy or someting. if i lived there though i would have kirkwood or squaw passes.
