Lake Tahoe

Alright, what is the mountain to be at around Tahoe? I'm not real concerned with park; mostly snowfall and sick terrain, cliffs etc.

Also what are the sled-access backcountry options?

kirkwood, alpine, squaw...in no particular order. end of subject, now you know. if anyone says heavenly or north*, they are complete idiots.

heavenly is the worst resort in tahoe. there is always a billion people there and every thing is flat. and here is the part where you say "oh motts and killibrew" they too are flat

Go to KIRKWOOD or Alpine

yeah dude, heavenly and northstar blow ass for real skiing. i had the unfortunate luck of being stuck @ northstar during a 3 foot snowstorm last year. i think they only have one exposed rock there, and it's like a 3 foot drop. absolute bullshit. i didn't get to squaw til it was 60 degrees, sunny, and skied out.

You're completely wrong about motts and killibrew. Motts has some amazing steeps and tree skiing. Your point about a lot of people is true, and a lot of the other is flat. Regardless, Squaw and Kirkwood are both way better.

i skied squaw and alpin, i didnt like squaw as much as i liked alpine, which was so fucking dope. skied my first chute there. hell yeah

Kirkwood for big mountain ... its sooo sick ... northstar had a sick park when i was there, and i didnt thin heavenly was that bad .. the park was pretty nice

ALPINE!!!!!!!

Squaw may be better (never skied there), but Alpine is like.. half the price. And alpine has a ton of dope stuff to ski with a couple minutes hiking.

having just moved to tahoe from mass i think id have to agree with the local on this one. killebrew and motts are impressive at first. but suck balls compared to kirkwoods selection. heavenly is a park resort. and if your looking for big mountain, its a bad choice. plus motts and killebrew are always closed wich is gay. go to kirkwood.

No steeps. Its an all mtn terrain park. The jumps are small but shaped nice. Superpipe is currently being built and should be done pretty soon due to the snow we recived. The tons of rails and boxes are the most fun thing about it right now.

For the most advanced skiing, you want to go to either Kirkwood, Alpine, or Squaw. I think Squaw has the best bc and cliffs between the three.

Squaw has backcountry.. you just have to know where to look. I would highly suggest being an incredible skier however, and definitly to carry a beacon, its fricken dangerous out there even if you do know where to look.

Be careful if you go behind sibera ridge tho, its all wilderness area out there and your fucked if you get caught.

If you want good backcountry, go to sugarbowl... you have backcountry for DAYS, and alot of it filters down to donner lake, if you know where to go.

Having a beacon is still a neccesity guys, dont ever forget that, it will save your asssssss.
