i'm going this year in january. how is it? do they get much pow there then?

last winter they got jack shit during January. Like maybe 2 or 3 storms which dumped not even 3 inches.

It even rained, and made everything hella icey.

So yea, last season january was nearly the worst month.. but things change. It is one of the coldest times on average.

What gravity?
 
Last year January wasn't a good month, it was hellish weather. Wind, rain, ice, that sort of thing. But that was last year, and this is now. Hopefully it won't be as bad. But Tahoe has got some awesome places to ski, and if you aren't skiing then hit the casinos or something.

 
Yeah dude, February sucked ass too, at least when I was there. There was one good powder day, and the rest were terrible, sierra cement. Still, we managed to have fun.

lol yeah maybe when you were there, but the rest of february was awesome. february-april is usually your best bet, but it's a crapshoot. last year some of the best skiing was before christmas. ya never know.
