Lake Tahoe Season pass question

my brother here in lovely Santa Clara, and is looking at season passes at placed in the Lake Tahoe area....Which would be the best....park is not important, but stuff like snowfall, powder days, and qaulity of terrain is essential....

actually. anything near the Bay Area(Santa clara is just south of SF, next to San jose...)

Sugar Bowl, Kirkwood, or Alpine Meadows would be good choices in my opinion.

i would reccomend alpine meadows, they get good snowfall, nice park, and last season they had a young adult pass for $199, so if they have that pass again, i would def. do alpine.

^^ that's definitely the best way to go. Either Kirkwood or Alpine. Both have super cheap passes and those resorts offer a variety of good terrain. I just shelled out the money for the Squaw pass though. You might also want to consider the SugarWood pass that combines Sugar Bowl and Kirkwood for about $300 I think. I can't remember.

 
If you're poor and have to get lots of people a season pass do Sierra and Northstar, they have good food there. Get the upgrade or whatever it is then turn your feet in for food coupons and eat all season for free. Buy $150 in Sobe at Northstar like all the cool kids do!

 
anywhere in Tahoe pretty much...to get really specific, I'd say squaw and Kirkwood for powder days...and Sierra no doubt for park and pipe

I'm transplanting to Tahoe next year and I've been having the same dilema. I really think kirkwood has to get the best snow because it is really high and cooler temps equal drier snow. But I think Alpine is a killer deal and they have some super sick terrain. My friend got the Northstar Sierra pass last year. Northstar pretty much just has a good park but shitty terrain. Sierra has some of the most killer bc I've ever seen but I know the Sierras don't have the most stable snowpack so it's risky to ride outta bounds. There's also some pretty good terrain there. But I'd go with Alpine or Kirkwood.
