to anyone thats used the lake placid water ramps, or any water ramps for that matter.

did they help a lot? what could u do before u used them, and what could u do after. how many days did u use the ramps total in the summer? thanks

I went to Ohio Dreams once last summer to learn flips and it definitely helped me a lot. It helps you with awareness in the air and just getting a general feel for what a trick is going to feel like. I'd rather work on flips and corks into water so I can make little adjustments and not have to worry about wrecking myself on ice.

yea dude the water ramps are soooooo good for learing spins/corks/flips and lake placid is not that expensive at all me and matt stout went in sept/oct last year and posted up at the econo lodge down the street and it ened up costing us with camp and the hotel like $100 a day each. Not bad at all when u compare that to summer camps

what is this usasa member business? i was thinkin about goin up for two days or something but forgot to look into it further haha

hey i was wondering if anyone can give me anymore information on the water ramps. do i need to schedule a time or anything? is there a specific website for them? do you just need to bring your membership card?

i got a pair of mik d's with with a bit of the edge ripped out underfoot. if i smooth that out and duck tape it should they be fine? how bout skis with a shit ton of chunks out of the top sheet? thanks for any help

ice face booters haha. only did the ramps once but i didnt have to pay, it was before the membership and everything...i think it depends on how the edge is comming out, it might snag a little.

yeah ben i agree. its gonna catch. thats my problem too, with the pipe cleaners.. im gonna have to file it down a lot then epoxy it maybe.

but whiteface's jumps are the last ones id TRY corks on.. getting a blackflip was hard enough..

Ok bro heres what you gotta know:

First Off, the ramps are dope, but it takes a little getting used to, so id suggest going for around 2 days or more, becuase the first day you will prolly just get the feel for em maybe learn a few things, but the next day you can really start improving and so on.

Also, it does blow donkey dick, but a usasa or ussa membership is required, usasa is cheaper im pretty sure. The the other additional costs are just the ramp fee and the coaching fee. For the record, the coach who works there full time and my personal coach, ritchie mogan, is the fucking man. Ask anyone, hes coached Mike clarke all his skill form his younger years. Hes also tight with decker and liam downey, but hes just super chill.

As far as equipment goes, use old shit or your stuff from last season if your getting new gear, boots WILL get ruined, so find an old pair, and you will also need a life jacket, helmet, etc. They will give u more detailed info when you cal them or email or something.

BUt yeah the bottom line is it helps in the long run alot with air sense becuase they are so funky, basically if u can do it on the ramps you can do it on snow. Not to mention the baller ass trampolines that are amazing. but beware of Deb.......

^^^ ahahaha deb is such a bitch, i was just there, but malissa is really cool

dont take your own skis because its possible that they will break, but your boots wont go bad if you dry em real good after.

thanks a lot jake, deb is my aunt...

not really though..

but my only problem is skis... i have pipe cleaners with a broken edge, and my AR6s.. they would be perfect for ramping, but i dont want to risk breaking my bindings/ rusting the edges/ soaking the core. so idk, ill figure something out

Awesome I'm all set then haha got a couple pairs of urban condition skis and a USASA membership. Ive got a snowboarder friend who wants to go also. I assume since its USASA they must allow snowboarders too right. What about a helmet/PFD, do you bring your own? Which ramp do you end up using the most? I've seen the picture of the 3 ramps...

any helmet works fine, you use the single the most (the one all the way to the left) and yeah snowboarders can use em too

dont you have to qualify to use the double and triple? like 100 successful jumps on the preceding one or something like that?

i dont think so, when i hit the double i didnt quaify tricks i think its more of a choice made by your coach.

that was a claim by the way....haha

hey guys, just wonderin if theres a website or something i can go on? i'd be coming from canada just cause the quebec city water ramps are about 3 hours further... thanks.
