I am teaching a group of eight 10 year old girls every weekend this season.

Ive never taught an all girl group.

I dont have any sisters.

What should I expect?

I teach this age in school. 1st get to know them. See if they act like princesses or if they want to ski/board and be gutsy. Try to teach them what they want as well as what you are expected to teach them. See if you can also invite a friend male or female to also help teach some things they wanted to learn. If they want to be gutsy don’t treat them like fragile dolls be understanding if they get hurt and cry just tell em to get back up and try it again! Make it fun!

if they are princessy.....just stick to what you are expected to teach. Hope this helps. Keep us updated on this adventure!

ive never taught skiing but i used to be a counselor at a sports camp and dude honestly 10 year olds who are together to do sport stuff are pretty damn cool. theyre old enough to be surprisingly with it and funny but not old enough that they have that tween/teen attitude yet usually

they'll be immature sometimes in a group of course but i bet they'll surprise you sometimes. just treat them well but be firm (kids respond well to boundaries if you're consistent) and you'll be good man!

fair warning, they'll probably shout obscenities at people bellow from the chairlift. Well, that's what my friend and I used to do when we were 10.

younger girls are such fun groups to coach!!! getting to know them is key. just like all instructing, the more stoked you are to be there and hanging with them the better. just be genuine and maybe learn some facts about taylor swift. they may take some warming up but you should just have fun with it.

They love music. Love it.

specifically one direction/taylor swift kinda stuff. familiarize yourself lol. They like games, girls that age can be super competitive. they usually arent afraid to send as hard as boys do. Make it fun, be super supportive if need be. good luck!
