My 13 year old daughter needs new skis. She is about 5'2 and maybe 100lbs. She has only been out maybe 6 times so we will call her a beginner all mountain type skier. Any recommendations for skis and bindings? Christmas is coming!

I am not a woman but I can suggest the Line 2022 Honey Bees but only if she is going to be skiing for longer and wants to ski more, the Line Honey Bees are a very good ski and are perfect for beginners intermediate and advanced skiers, keep in mind only order them if she wants to become a better skier and maybe ride park before ordering them because they are $350 but they are a great ski. I am not sure on bindings but I know some good brands. Marker, Look, and Tyrolia all have some goo

I would disagree with almost all of this. I'm gonna jump the gun and say if she's not out that much she prolly isn't focused to much on park? A pretty general good all mountain ski is a line pandora or mindbender ti . You can play around with waist widths according to how good shee is or what mountain. As far as bindings marker squires or tyroliw attacks are great budget friendly options.

Also Honey Bees and baders are prolly the worst ski line makes for people that want to ski all mountain mountain a little park. If she's interested in a ski like that I would look to one of the k2 reckoners that are under 102

Aw!! I'm so happy for her!! Proud dad moment.

I would recommend the K2 "Luv" skis. They are purposefully engineered for young lady's progression.

Light. Sturdy. Natural to swing around. Does the job for learning a full set of fundamental skills, and will get her around wherever she wants to go.

Lengths in the 140's and 150's.

They also have Luv boots that look pretty comfortable.

OP never stated location, needs skis recommendation s first

his profile pic is map/flag of nova scotia, both of my brothers work in pretty much the only good ski shop in the province. just trying to help!

Thanks everyone.

She is correct in that I live in NS. I ride Line Blends on Marker Jester Pro bindings. I bought my boots at A1. It's the only place around here I will go. Great people there. I plan on checking them out for her for sure but I also know their selection is pretty limited.

We only have tiny hills here that are 50% ice most of the season.

I have gotten her out for the last 3 seasons so I am hoping she will continue.

Dido on this question for my girlfriend she’s 5’4 120 pounds used to ski as a kid but got her back on the hill for the first time in 10 years last year. Beginner leaning on intermediate skier gonna be in the PNW my hood mainly.

There are lots of good options out there, but as an anecdote I've given two beginner skier ladies my old faction prodigies (yes I had two pairs from different years) and they did amazing on them. They both made amazing progression in a single ski season. I feel like the prodigy is such a good learner ski, the rockered tip and tail makes the ski so easy to break in and out of a turn. I had another girlfriend who was learning on some flat tailed skis (blizzard pearls) and she was really struggling by comparison. That being said I was happy to get rid of those skis cause they tip flapped like crazy at high speeds, but they are perfect for beginners all they way up to advanced intermediate skiers. I loved them at the time when I bought them and it took me many years to out grow them.

I just bought myself some used prodigy 2.0 and saw they have a new one .5 that looks perfect thanks for the advice

I grabbed a pair of jr Faction CT 2.0 (154) for her and an on sale pair of Armada bantam jr (130) for my 6 year old son who just really started to get excited about skiing last year and probably isnt going to like the girly flower ones I got for free much longer so those will get handed down to my 4 year old daughter this year.

Protip: don't have kids.
