La nina

Uh, that's generally bad news for Tahoe, El Nino's seem to bring the heavy dumps to Tahoe. La Nina's are less predictable, usually drier conditions.

Not always, but it seems to steer the storms to the PNW. And watch out for the "pineapple express" storms, they once melted the entire Sierra snowpack overnight, took out a highway, and ruined a lot of resorts in Tahoe.

might be good for whistler, baker, and hood. hopefully, i'll be spending some time in whistler later in the season. mmmm, wet, heavy snow.

more dryness for california ahead? they don't need the drought. last season was a disaster.

hey fartboy, check out the "boot commando" thread, now with pics. . .

i had the same thought when i saw this thread, but then i remembered how much wisco winters suck, and there went that thought.

last year was soposedly a el nino, which is bad and you get less snow, but it was the most snow my mountain has ever gotten, so this year better be hella good

sounds like whistler and baker are gonna have another epic season, hopefully the BC interior will be hit hard too

With La Niña developing, seasonal forecasters expect wetter-than-normal conditions in the Pacific Northwest and drier-than-normal conditions in the already drought-stricken southwestern U. S. this Fall.

Gotta the PNW... Stevens and Baker all year long.... Can't get much better than that.
