I heard they are trying to officially change the name of pretzel to opp....
 
im gonna keep calling them pretzels because it makes sense. arent trying to be like them, just using their wonderful knowledge to skip out on the awkwardness of trying to name tricks and winding up with shit like douglas spin, opposites, and kangaroo flip.

la familia personally.....i really don't care what they do they are good skiers and i respect them. but i'm still calling pretzels pretzels
 
while i agree that "pretzel" is kinda strange and im not sure how it has anything to do with skiing, i've gotten kinda used to saying it

who knows, maybe "opposite" will catch on, it is more simple and less confusing when you think about it
 
Kinda funny that the members of La Familia are now getting into the nitty gritty of ski terminology... I thought they'd stick to slayin' punk ass niggas and railin' bitches. Leave trick name disputes to us online folk- you guys are supposed to be cool, remember? haha
 
A lot would be a key word there, though its false. Some snowboarders do hate but whatever. IE I am a fan of the pretzel. Delicious food, even more of a delicious trick. Can you eat an opp? No so why name a tricks that. BFF.
 
some people hate their parents but that doesnt mean they go and decide not to be potty trained. you dont have to like somene to learn from them. and who cares if they dont respect us. we respect them (picture this, isensevn) snowboarding is like our older brother, yeah we seem annoying to them but we're all like wow they're cool! suck it up and add some salt/mustard

how I've always talked about spins in and outta rails, frontside backside... just makes more sense.

it doesn't matter. No matter how people put it everyone still knows what trick they're talking about. Same goes for cab/switch/fakie.
 
frontside and backside make no sense for a "pretzel". Pretzel makes no sense either. Opposite makes sense meaning its the opposite way of rotation. But im gonna call it opp, and i hope others dont, because i dont want people to know what im talkin about.
