These posts fucking crack me up. How many Kye threads have there been on this site since day one? I mean honestly...
Normally I read them, laugh, show Kye then laugh again. End of story. But it's going a little too far, I think it's time I add my word again.
Kye and I compete and grew up together in Whistler. Our parents ripped together when we were still floating in the sack. We;ve gone through some really horrible times... We've also gone through some incredible times. No matter what, we can always seem to laugh.
Having known him like a brother for so long it's really amusing, and kind of scary at how much you guys actually seem to care about him. Honestly, it shouldn't matter. Bottom line is: he's a good skier and a nice kid. Obviously he and his mum are doing something right to promote Kye so well within the ski industry. He's in magazines, movies, adds etc. And personally I think the exposure is well deserved.
There's no doubt in my mind that there are lots of other young skiers out there. The only way to prove that they are worthy, is to do the same as Kye. Enter the contests, do well and get exposure from majour magazines and production companies. Until these kids do that, all they have is their buddies backing them up online. Don't answer this with a 'but we don't live in Whistler' because that's life... And that's the way things worked out. If they were as serious as Kye, myself, Callum, Sean, Mike and the rest of the crew here are; they would spend the money, travel to the contests, throw down and bow.
I'm getting tired of all this. You should all ask yourselves, how important is it to ponder over how good a kid is when he doesnt even think about it himself. Kye skis for the same reason as me. We were introduced to it by our fathers, and we will forever be in love with it. It doesnt matter about the money, thats a small perk. It's about being in the mountains with friends, and especially family and doing what we love to do.
Happy Trevor Day (26).
