Kung fujas vs. obsethed rocker?

ok so i was flipping through the k2 brochure for this year and it said that the kung fujas have 5/30 rocker and the seths have 10/20 rocker. hmmm so this means that the rocker on the kung fujas is longer but not as tall as the rocker on the seths. meaning that the seths have more effective edge yet bigger rocker. the decision seems quite obvious to me so why would anyone pick kung fujas? and dont say theyre skinnier cuz the diff is like a cm seriously. did k2 mess up the numbers cuz seths seem way better

The KF is a more all mountain oriented ski with only a little rocker, smaller waist (95 vs.105 still makes a difference) that is designed to be skiied on groomers and park as well as takling pow. The Seth is pretty soft and more adept for shredding pow while still having some respectable all mountain performance.

I guess it all depends what you're looking for

Fujas= Groomer and Park Crusher

Seth=Pow Slayer

i use my seths as my all around ski and im from the east(onterrible)
and use my volkl karma as my park ski...
i still jump in the park with my seths cause its o so fun

Yeah I might be getting Seths and I will for sure use them everywhere

Its not like you NEED to use them for their intended conditions: Hellbents in the park anyone?

ok but why would they give the more groomer oriented ski longer rocker. you would want more effective edge for carving?

yeah i was thinking the same thing. as i have been skiing helbents all mountain (including park) for 2 seasons now. But i got tired of them as my one quiver ski, and now im looking for something lighter with more all mountain capability.

How is the flex on the seths?? and is the rocker in the tip alot more significant than in the tail (like with the JJs)? or is it more of a symetrical rocker like the helbent?

the rocker is minimal on the fujas and when you put them on edge you still have alot of effective edge, the obsethed has a more abrupt rocker shortening its effective edge even when put on edge.

not according to the dimensions k2 gives. the fujas is longer while the seth is shorter and higher up. and all k2 skis have symetrical height tips and tails and all rockered k2 has symetrical rocker

so what you just said explains that the seth has more effective edge which is better for an all mountain and on groomers mostly.

also keep in mind the FLEX

kung fujas is a softer, somewhat fat, park oriented, and all around buttery fun ski

obsethed is a stiffer, more cliff hucking and crud oriented, all mountain killer

i have'nt skied them yet, but just got the obsethed in 189'z. I actually first got the kung fujas and returned them, because they were too soft. I like the k2 brand as it krazy burly... looking forward to rocking them this year. The obsethed is much stiffer ski then the kf, and a better choice for allmount.

no because the rocker is not as abrupt you can get more edge on edge faster then the obsethed in the same length. which means there is more effective edge on the fujas. thats like saying because the hell bent rocker is more abrupt it has more effective edge then the both these other skis. the 2 skis are pretty similar just for two different skiing styles.
