Kung Fujas vs. Blends

well, next year's blends will have a little bit of early rise, but also have a softer flex and be a little more playful. they have a 100mm waist vs the kung fujas' 95, so they're prob a little more geared towards powder than the kung fujas. personally, i have the blends from last year a love em to death

Well I feel like a horses pa toot, 2010's what the above poster said minus the early rise on the blends, remember though k2 measures there skis really long.

my friend absolutely loves his blends. they are his park skis (blends and hellbents are his quiver) and he would not buy another ski for park.

he loves how wide they are, but manages to still slay rails. i personally have never skied them, but he's so stoked on them that i am.

on the other hand, i've only heard good things about next year's kung fujas too.

I got a pair of this years Kung Fujas and im not real impressed with them. The early rise is barley noticible in powder but next years is going to be bigger so that may help. The quality of construction does not seem to be the greatest, and im wondering if it is because they are made in china now. I have taken them out 5 times this season and they are beat to hell with gashes on the topsheet and slight cracks in the sidewall. They look like my salomon foils after 4 years of use. There an alright ski for the money though as not all of us can afford a two ski quiver.

the topsheet is purely cosmetic. its because for some reason k2 uses super soft stuff for their topsheets, idk why. but if there are cracks in the sidewall you need to get those warrantied, they shouldnt be doing that.

Yeah im not to worried about it its all cosmetic like you said. I just wasnt that impressed with them after all the good reviews and editors picks they just didnt live up.

I almost picked up a pair of 09 fujas same design thinking a 95mm underfoot semi rocker ski would be a perfect middle man for my quiver until i put them together, the "rocker" they claim is kinda a joke.

yeah the rocker is a joke, it helps in the hardpack and crud, but in the powder it does nothing. Still have to lean back in powder. Oh well live and learn.

Not to mention K2's in general are a heavy ski, they can be helpful in crud being they bust it up good! But soft, powder days, I feel I have to work so much harder on my K2's than my Line's, I rode my buddy's seths, the first year they had rocker and the 105 waist. My Line Prophet 130 is so much lighter than those K2's. The Prophet is way bigger, makes the Seths look like park skis!

I went with the marker schizo so i can have them at core center or traditional. Even with them at traditional the rocker is not noticiable in the powder. Could also be that im in AK and the powder here is super wet and dense because were at sea level right on the ocean.

I meant '09/'10. I ski park 90% of the time but i like a little fatter ski and i want something that can slay everything. Ive just never tried either of these skis out so im trying to get some opinions.

i have blends and love them to death. they are perfect for everything. i use mine mainly in the park but when i do go out and ski some powder and trees they handle really well and they charge hard. they have also held up really well and the only thing with them is the top sheet chips easily when hitting rails. other then that they are great. next years will have early rise and will be a bit softer which will make them even better.

I have this years blends. I chose them over the fuja's as they're cheaper (both skied equally well when i tried them).
Stocked on my choice, they absolutely rip everything - pow to park. "Fat" skis are the future.

Try again, the obSETHed is lighter than the Prophet. Boots and bindings make a HUGE difference in weight as well.

Why have I always thought obsethed were wider than 105? I also was trying to decide between these two skis but if obsethed are only 105 i'm probably gonna get those. How are obsethed in the park?

I have last years fujas and they are the best ski i have ever owned. I find that they are great in powder (i have schizos, and move them way back for pow) and their great in park too. You still have to lean back in powder a little, but its not that much, and if you ski park 90% of the time, you dont want to go much fatter than 95mm waist. I havent tried the blends, but ive heard pretty good things about them too. The only issue with the fujas is the topsheet chips really easily, but thats just cosmetic
