I am 5'8" and 145lbs i have AR6s for park but need a good BC ski that can go every were groomers, powder, trees, and jibing. Also im 5'8 so what ski length should i go for. thanks karma+++++

if u wanna rip all moutain and a bit of pow then kung fujas, plus jjs im pretty sure r out of stock at armada. i could b wrong. umm i ur 5'8 then probb gona b like 175

will 2 cm back effect switch much? ive ridden center on habits for a while, and dont really remember the last time i skied on anything but. i'm kinda in the same situation, but im 165, not sub 150, so i may need to go up a length

wut bout the kung fujas mounted .5-1.5cm back from center? are they too long for me?

JJs arent designed to be mounted too close to center. recommended is at -5 cm from "true" center. They also recommend to not go any closer to center than -3, and thatll be for more switch riding. Going center is going to make you not benefit at all from the regular sidecut it has, which is fairly short to start with.

they rip on the groomers

they rip in the pow

they rape the steep nasty stuff

one of the best skis i have ridden

buy them

would the kung fujas be good for pow, also it has been 50/50 of people telling me to get jjs and kung fujas, here is more info on what i do, i already have AR6s for park and i will be doing some touring with dukes on them, i will be skiing WA area pow with them they need to be playful and alright to be sending off cliffs and BC stuff, and they will need to be able to ski groomers and double blacks.

I am having a hard time choosing so help me out.

obsetheds are so sick, ive got a pair and they are so sick

omg, its shitting snow right now here in mammoth

If you buy JJ's you probably won't see them for at least a month or so. They sold out of the initial run, and then did a second run, most of that run had been sold by a few weeks ago as well. my guess is that there is less ten 20 unclaimed pairs, all from the second run which I do not think has been shipped to dealers yet.

Are those our only choices? I guess JJs... but you havent really said how groomer you will be using these for or how stiff you like your skis~

Oh and if you center mount JJs gtfo

I also want them to shred in the park and pipe but still kill in the bc, Im getting marker Barron's to go on them and going to use them for touring, idont realy care about the flex i guss i dont want them to stiff ,or to soft .

you should look at line blends buddy.

I dont know why youd mount barons on a ski you want to ride in the park and jib around with even though you're primarily going to be skiing powder and all over the mountain with them. There have been instances when landing switch with dukes/barons haven't resulted too nicely

I just want the ski to ride powder and go all over the mountain it dosnt have to ski park and pipe i hav changed my mind i have ar6s for that, so help me out jjs kung fujas obsetheds or bacons, what ever will do good in pow, bc, skier chop ,some groomers, the stuff i said before besides park and pipe,

ok dude so heres how it is. the obsethed will kill the whole mountain. in pow they will float like crazy, on jumps they will feel great and stomp shit, theyre awesome. the JJ will be good in pow but on groomers and chop it will suck major.

I am making the same decision as original poster.. same size too.. so far.. 182 Bacons centred is my thinking..

your kidding right? the JJ is reverse camber AND sidecut...the obsethed has regular camber underfoot, regular sidecut, and is skinnier...its so much better than the JJ on groomers...the JJ is wayyyy more of a quiver ski. its very very similar to the ARG...

The King Fujas are a lot like the 06-07 Seths but softer. If you open them up on hardpack they get a little floopy. It is a super fun wide park ski, and can press and butter really easily.

The 09 JJ is not reverse camber or reverse sidecut you stupid fuck. In fact it has camber underfoot. Maybe it wont perform as well on groomers as the obsethed, but you sure as hell cant compare it to the ARG. Note to OP, do your research elsewhere because gear talk is garbage~

Im really leaning towards the obsetheds, they are perfect what im looking for what will be good bindings that wont cost a lot.

seriously? straight from Armada:

"these skis evolved closer to the Armada ARG. The JJ is now a five-width dimensional, sidecut-within-a reverse-sidecut and rockered ski. "

you need anger management if you think "you stupid fuck" is really worth it over the internet. also get your shit straight before spewing your shit to some kid trying to get info the skis.

how much do you weigh? px12/15 etc are good. or solly sths for a little wider of a mounting pattern.

niiiick.

JJ's are regular sidecut and camber underfoot. Reverse sidecut and camber in the tip and tail

i know this...but they are still reverse sidecut, whereas the obsethed are not. period. the obsethed is way less specific and way more versatile than the JJ is what i'm sayin bro. that scott kid just has his panties in a tightly furled wad

i feel like i can confidently say that the obsethed is the best ski i have ever skied. it is amazing everywhere, i live in mammoth and we have been graced with an early opening. the season began last monday so i have had 7 days of riding so far, 5 of those days being on my obsetheds.

opening day i rode my addicts, real fun just skied chutes in about 2ft of fresh, they were fun because they were stiffer and are easy to whip around but they are a little on the small side.

the next day i rode my nordica supercharger ignitions, mine are rockered from abuse though, i skied a combo of park and all mountain, again super fun but still on the narrow side, they kill it in the park however.

the past 5 days i have been riding my obsetheds, i fell in love. so solid every where, a little big at first but once i got used to them they are amazing, they ski switch like a dream and you can go so fast without the slightest fear. they float great and even in the park they are fun. i 450ed out of a flat box with them, did a front switch up blind 2 out, nose and tail presses blind 360 switch up on the shark fin box which is an up down that has a drop. these skis are the perfect ski, rediculously versatile. i was charging off the top and like never before, i could go so fast and be so stable drop cliffs into chutes with no fear because i knew i had a solid ski. the only thing i wish i could change about them is move my bindings to center, which i will be doing soon. if you can, demo some you will fall in love.

Christ you are fucking stupid, you expect anyone to listen to your advice when you have obviously never even touched a pair of JJs? You still want to argue they are reverse camber? They are either reverse sidecut or not, Guess what, the shovel is fatter than underfoot retard, so excuse me while I go find the nearest wall and bang your head into it until I forget the infinite limits of stupidity.

On another note I will agree that you will probably be a little better off in the park with the obsetheds, but if you want to charge pow crud spin and stomp in the BC then the JJ is a better choice in my opinion. Im sure that you would be happy with either ski, but its still hard to say what you are looking for here. There are advantages in both~

your an obnoxious prick. his point was correct. the JJ is a 5 dimension ski, and has a real rocker. therefore compared to the seth, it will perform like shit on hardpack. this kid is looking for a really versatile ski, and the weird sidecut underfoot/ camber only underfoot of the JJ wont be ideal for that. it gets you back to the lift well, but for full on versatility not the best choice.

Dude u should be very proud of your self, I am getting the obsetheds in a month, you are very helpful, karma+++

thanks man....and as to scott...you have a lot of built up anger dude...its a ski...really not a big deal. get off your computer, get outside more, go wail on a punching bag or something...your a nutter...

aight man have fun with those obsetheds. truly amazing ski

The Obsethed is a "mini" Rocker which means it still has some normal camber to it but rises up off the snow earlier in the tip and tail. I wouldn't put a barron on it if you want to ski a lot of park it adds extra weight and changes the flex underfoot, plus it is a little higher off the ski. Griffons are awesome, same with Salomon STH. Both bindings are great for wider skis giving you quicker edge to edge control.

I wont be doing park with these mostly bc out of bounds stuff and some groomers, I have AR6s for park. so if i dint use them for park would Barron's be good.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^or would it be better to get griffns because i have the dakine heli pack so i could carrie them.
