Who here thought that kristi's seg. in 1242 was the gayest thing ever? not the skiing, but the intro made me want to cry for all women skiers. i was hoping it would end up being a joke, but just showed me how very untalented women skiers are, had they just shown her clean the rail without the drama, I would have thought her a much more talented and cool skier

I haven't seen it, but I've heard what it's generally about and seen pics of it. I don't care how gay the seg looks or how much she whined about it (if she did or not I haven't seen it yet, I don't know), but any girl that eats it on a rail like that more than once even, and keeps trying till she gets it, gets my respect.

It's called determination man, and listen to Johnny D's explanation of the thing, she didn't just crash once, she c4rashednhard like that 4 times before giving up, the second time she hyper extended her knee and couldnt stand for 4 days. lets see you suck it up, take 4 advil and go try to slide a rail that damn near killed you every single time you tried it.

That took guts to keep trying at it, and whether it fits in her segment or not i dunno but I commend her for it

That pisses me off in soo many ways. Do females have special nerves that magnify pain? You're telling me it doesn't hurt just as bad when I fuck myself up on a rail?

Boronowski and others have lost teeth on serious rail crashes. But you don't see them starting their segments with a 3 minute drama of them versus the rail.

Lastly, while on this subject: why shouldn't girls be just as good as guys in snow sports? I'd bet Kristi could out-lift Tanner in a weight room, he's small and skinny from every pic I've seen. Lots of pros our. Skiing/boarding (not counting racing) is about finesse and skill. So where lies the difference?

 
look at the bodies? ok, so lemme get this straight. it's totally cool for girls to go and fight a war for our country, because as far as war fighting goes, girls bodies can hack it. but skiing? now that's just too damned far.

 
the truth is, most girls do have way less of a pain tollerence and lots of girls arnt interested in actully doing cool shit on the hill, i would say over 80% of the snowboard/skier girls are jsut there to impress the guys. Although there is that other fraction of the population out there pushing hte sport.

I haven't been to med school yet so maybe you can clue me in on this 'pain tolerance thing' for girls compared to guys. is there some sort of ratio? like, for every 3 of my fingers you cut off before I can't take the pain, you can only cut off one girl finger?

Wow. That this post is ridiculous.. Kristi and Sarah could both out-ski you blindfolded. I agree witht he part that the intro to her segment was a little boring. But other than that, i thought her segment totally rocked.. She has progressed so much, she really really rips!

no, not all, but some. My point is that I don't think it should be a physical thing so much as mental. How come Seth or Jamie Pierre huck 60 foot cliffs and I don't? Because they're more phyically adapted to it? or because I'm afraid to.

It's mental, not physical. This is why I don't understand why girls aren't just as good as guys in skiing and boarding.

now, i don't agree that her segment sucked, i didn't like her dramatic intro but she stil rips, but to the above comment, I remember seeing Brent, sprang/ break, tweak or whatever his wrist at a big air comp in qualifying. he couldn't even hold his pole and he went back to win the thing with a switch rodeo seven grabbed with his good hand and stuck that would bring any man to tears.

It took women's snowboarding alot longer to evolve, and there are some really good girls now. I think its going to take a few years for the girls to start catching up to the guys. If you look at the girl to guy ratio on the mountain, its ridiculous. The reality is that these girls are better then most of you guys who are talking shit.

Girls are not allowed to fart or burp, therefore we must bitch or else we will explode

They should have had someone else do it, but yeah she kills....especially since she's the first girl to throw a cork 7. there is a lot of up and coming talent in the women department of freeskiing, and by the way, Charlotte Motts would dollar sign almost all guys's turns. Most guys out there are willign to try some shit even aafter they took a major beating from it but mostt girls will move onto onto something else, but she didnt and tried again and again. She get respect for that cause she is prolly one of the only chicks in skiing who would have continued hitting it.

Krista had an amazing segment!!! She's the only girl I've seen throw cork 7s, rodeos, mistys, slide hand rails, and do it all with style.

I saw her segment in focused. It was in the DVD 'extras'. Why didn't she have a seg in the main film? You can't be a badass skier and make in the big films anymore. your sponsor has to give the film company big $$$$. skiing gone hollywood
