Kniffity Knitter Question?

i know this should be in the Crochet Cult but i think i will get more responses here........

So i got a kniffity knitter and its pretty simple to make hats....i am just wondering if anyone knows how to make them so they dont have a curl up lip on them?....and i want to make headbands with it too and if it has that little lip on them it would be gay.....

yupp either crochet around the bottom or fold it up and over so it doubles up.
