hey, i went skiin on saturday and totally wrecked it in the pipe and reinjured my knees, they are now dark purple and swollen. Anyone else have experience with my prob.?

oh shit, that sounds nasty. if it stays like that go see a doctor, you might have torn something. i tore my acl last year and thats kinda what it looked like.

actually yea i had the same sort of problem, got it playing ultimate. but mine was from a direct blow to my knee, did the same thing happen to you?

the doc said that the bursae sack( between the bones and skin on my knee) was damaged and was caused to fill up with fluid. had to have it drained with a cortizon injection. dont know if that helps you at all but let me know and ape you are a dipshit

i have bad knees anyways b/c i grew fast and my growth plates got all messed up and skiing just adds to that

tore my acl less then 2 weeks ago :-/ out for 9 months.. f'ing sucks.. especially when you have a cabin at mt hood waiting for you allll summer.

skierX, thats not true. i did mine in november and am still having problems even after the injection. Dr. said it probably wont get worse but could take a long time to heal pending the problem

Jib revolution: if you get surgery now, you can be skiing in july at hood, that is my plan. I hope to skiing by june, but that might be pushing it.

^^^ the biggest weakness in the recovery time is 3rd-4th month out. MAYBE if i go to therapy 7 days a week and work reallly hard i could be skiing by late june, and thats not going big.. just skiing. In my opinion i want my knee at 100% before i go back into it, i dont want to sit out next season because i rushed recovery and skied during the summer. Either way.. knees suck.

Ice 'em first of all... cortozone injections suck big time but they can be miracle workers. Get them checked out anyway... knee injuries suck- I'm sorry dude

yeah im gonna be back in may for some super easy light skiing that being 6 months. then work out all summer. and maybe just step it up to rials next season.

something happened to my right knee like that and it didnt really hurt but it swelled up huge and the stupid albertan doctors where i live had no clue what happened they could only tell me i had no tears or breaks or anything out for two weeks but i went skiing yesterday and it seemed fine it might have been a burst sack
