Knee to face?

alright so today i basically kinda overshot a five and when i landed i compressed and my face hit my knee pretty hard. got lucky and i only ended up cutting my lip and getting a big bump on my cheek. this seems like it could be pretty common has anyone else had this type of thing happen? if so, was it scary to land switch again because the jump we have at our home mountain is pretty flat and not very steep landing so i figure it might be pretty intimidating to land switch again. anyone else have this kind of thing happen?

it pretty much happens to everyone who overshoots or undershoots a large jump...lucky you didn't knock any teeth out

i jumped off my friends roof into a moon bounce, Ya i said it, a moon bounce!. and knee went to chin and i was alright. shoulda landed on my ass

I fell sliding an a-frame and got pole to jaw. It was like being flash grenade-ed for 5 seconds.

i have kneed myself in the mouth twice both on 5's and both were undershoots. Im lucky to not have lost any teeth but im thinking about getting a mouthguard or something

the worst it happened to me was when i dropped a cliff like 12 feet (im not a hucker at all) and landed pretty flat and on a hard patch and my knee hit my shin decently hard, bloody tongue and lip and hurt face was all i got out of it (thankfully)

there was a guy on Scarred or some show who took a knee to face after over shooting and smashed is cheek bone all up and he now has tunnel vision sometimes.

ya i have done the same thing b4 on a 5, but then after i was knocked a little "wonky"(and yes this is a technical term) i went into a nose butter and grinded my face on hard pack for a bit...

so ended up with bloody me:)

yeah that happend to me early in the year just straight airing a jump for the first time i came up a little short and hit the side of my face on my knees. its def scary and hurts like a bitch. i bet once you throw a couple 180s off of it and land clean you will be fine and wont be that scared trying 5s off of it

2 days ago in whistler.. i did this cliff and when i landed, my knee hit my goggles.. like on the side..and i gues the plastic from the goggles made a little cut beside my eye. so i was lucky to only get a little cut.. my cousin got stiches from a knee hitting his chin.. so i guess it happens often..

knee to the face is one thing, i went pole to the face at least 4 times last year, but now ive learned to take the knee instead

it's a number between 4 and 6, and is sometimes spelled out f-i-v-e.

An alternative definition is when two people slap hands together palm to palm and be above the head in a "high five" or below the elbow in what is referred to by the inuits as a "low five".

I kneed myself in the face the other day and my jaw owned the shit out of my kneecap. Barely felt it up top but I hobbled around like a pregnant walrus for two days.

I have definately had the knee to face, it sucks. I have to agree with the pole to face guy though. I took a pole grip to the ribs and I thought I would never be able to breathe again. I took a grip to goggle once and my eyeball left an impression on the inside of my goggle and my eye would not stop watering.

I dropped a cliff and bit my knee pretty hard once, pushed all my front teeth inwards. But this was way back when i had braces, and it was lucky i did because my orthodontist told me if i didn't i probably would have lost some teeth.

i have gotten 2 black eyes, a broken nose, and bit a hole thru my toungue from my knees hitting my face/chin. It really sucks and always makes me nervious for the rest of the day, but come the next day and im back to normal, i do it about once a day too, and its all stupid shit, like trying a lazy boy out of a quarter pipe.

i did that twice in one day, once with a blind 450 out and once catching on a switchup

then the next day i did it again overshooting a 5

yeah this just happened to me yesterday. I landed switch off of a knoll into some powder, was too heavy on the tails, ejected from one ski and kneed myself in the nose while backflipping... not fun at all.

i did a 180 over the momentum big table, which was like 70, and i overshot. took my knee to my chin. my helmet buckle cut into my chin, and i have a scar. i couldnt ski anymore after, i just went back to the hotel. it felt like a concussion but not as bad as any ive had, no throwing up. just sore eyes and a bad headache.

dropped a 15 ft to flat, to a landing that looked awesome, cuz it was an awesome day, but no. it was flat and icy. knee to the chest then face. fuck it hurt

i hit my knee to my face pretty bad once...broke my gum bone and killed some teeth, and bit my tongue in half. Got 12 stitches in my tongue and some root canals, still dnt really have feeling in my tongue.

its really called the buckal plate or something like that...its the bone under you're nose that holds your teeth in. i just called it the gum bone to simlify things

It's happened to me a couple times on big cliffs with flat landings.  I think I've only done it in the park once...I cased on a 5 or something a few years ago.

it happens to me a lot on this one jump thats hard to get speed for and sometimes you'll case it, but it mostly happens when i land switch, although ive done it off a cliff with a hard landing

my friend derek dropped a cliff two seasons ago and hit his face with his knee. he crushed his eye socket, cheek bone, and nose. fucking brutal. the video footage he has a knee sized crater covering his right side of his face, indented abot an inch and a half. he had 3 reconstructive plastic surgeries to fix it, he's lucky he is not blind or has brain damage.

it was the most metal thing i have ever seen.
