Knee surgery-this is going to be shitty

So ive been to the doctors a couple times with complaints of knee pain. I have noticed that my knees never touched but thought it was a semi normal thing. Apparently i have something called blounts disease that makes the outside of my shin bone to grow faster, causing my legs to become curved.

Basically I have to get a bone graph just below my knee that straightens my leg, and the recovery time is 4-5 months after the surgery, but i have to get them done individually. so 10 months. This is probably happening in late march or early april and the more I think about ending this season early, not biking or being able to do anything over the summer and not being able to ski halfway through next season is really heart breaking. fuck

This is entirely the fault of your parents. They have shitty, inferior genes and should never have reproduced. Your mother likely has a fivehead and your dad has early-onset baldness. They fucked you simply by procreating and making you.

To stop this terrible cycle, get sterilized now so that you do not perpetuate their atrocity (making you) even more.

take up playing the guitar, or pottery or beat making or something.

vibes, 10 months is a long time to be in recovery-mode.

yea, i have a guitar and want to get way better. Been thinking about doing that.

^I'd second the guitar suggestion, it's a rewarding and constructing activity to engage in even when not injured. Good luck with the recovery!

Make sure you stay active (but don't fuck up your legs). Feeling unhealthy while in recovery mode is an incredibly shitty feeling.

When I got hurt a few years ago I swore I'd learn guitar during recovery..

but then I smoked a bunch of pot, got hammered, and before you knew it I was skiing again and still don't know how to even hold a guitar.

Lmao

Start PT as soon as your allowed, all your exercises and stretching will burn up a ton of free time if you are serious about recovery. But until then play some guitar, read some books, and eat well.

Drugs and sleep are like time travel into the future!

I have a guitar and have wanted to learn it for so long. But I continuously hang out with friends, ski, mountain bike, and rock climb with all my free time. If you can't do physical activities I suggest you learn the guitar. Only time you will put in the time if you're an outdoorsy social guy, might as well take advantage of the down time.

Update. 1 and a half months into my first leg. Not as bad as I thought it would be. I am in a knee brace so I can fully move my knee now. The first 2 weeks was crazy unbearable pain, even on a maxed out morphine prescription. After that tho its pretty smooth sailing

Getting my second done in september
