Knee question....skiing vs snowboarding

i lost a buncha cartilage in my knee and had some surgery it just grew back and im thinking about what i should do next season. is freestyle skiing better for your knees than snowboarding? or does it even matter?
 
i beliee both activities tear knees to peices, and if anything skiing is worse for your knees.

but really they are both terrible for your knees so just do whatever you prefer.
 
Skiing rapes our knees when you fall because your legs are separated, and this makes them a lot more vulnerable to being torqued, and as a result tearing ligaments and other injuries, whereas on a snowboard you're feet are attached to one board, so generally when you fall, you're knees don't get torqued as easy unless you're board snaps or something. Knees take a lot more damage from falling skiing, but I'm not sure about other aspects, like cliff hucking or skiing bumps.
 
I have not done extensive research but it would seem that in skiing your knees would be more vulnerable in reguards to rotational movement vs snowboarding. In snowboarding it would seem lateral movement would be the killer vs skiing since the inside and outside of your legs are fixed. If you say fall or catch an edge sideways skiing your legs can come together or apart thus allowing your body to roll more and absorb the impact.
 
I've known skiing to be way more harsh on the knees. Mainly because your legs are separated by two pieces of equipment, cause a twist when you fall. As for a snowboarder, who has both legs attached to one piece, avoiding that twist. I know far more skiers with knee problems than snowboarders. And I have many friends who switched to snowboarding for this reason in particular. Not that snowboarders don't have knee injuries, I just think there are other injuries associated with snowboarding more than the knee. Where it's the #1 injury for a skier.
 
i have pretty bad knee problems and when i started snowboarding my knees got raped,i gave it up and started skiing more which doesnt hurt me at all...
 
i fucking hate knees
and my knees hate me
they suck
they always hurt and are delicate and break and get stupid growing problems
fuck knees

oh and snowboarding will be better for your knee priorities
