Took a pretty hard fall a few days ago cruising park and my knee is pretty fucked up as a result. Any exercises; using machines or otherwise, to help speed up the recovery?

step 1 find out what exactly is wrong with said knee
1 doctor said it was a sprain and another said it was an overextended ligament. Both suggest gym exercises to strengthen said area. Cant afford physio so here i am

Go to physical therapy one time, explain the situation and if you find a good one they will send you home with lots of things to do at home.

Going to the PT will give you a better evaluation than the normal doc. Your first day there they will run an evaluation then give you some stretches that you need to do three times a day. So before you go you need to make a commitment that you will do the stretches regularly. So going to the PT isn't necessary because you can find all the possible knee stretches online, but the PT will give you what you specifically need to stretch and they will probably outline a recovery program ie. every two weeks a new set of stretches to promote recovery

I sprained my MCL a few years ago and did a ton of lunges, body weight squats, and seated leg presses at PT. that worked for me but it took a while for the pain to go away.

Been on a weak LCL since last April, definetly helps to strengthen it but I usually ice it when it bothers me. Try to learn some at home stretches or exercises to help, gonna start riding the basement bike again to see how it helps.

Most common are MCL and ACL. Look up the symptoms for both and suss out recommended treatment... ONLY if you really dont want to go to a physio...
