I have osteochondritis dissecans, requiring 2 surgeries and a total of 2.5 years off high impact sports. Its an accute case where a lesion of cartilage loses blood flow and in my case, shears off the lateral femoral condyle. Super frustrating because no one crash caused it, but rather just repetitive impacts. How the hell do you avoid that in freestyle skiing? Anyway, take care of your knees and listen to your body. It may be more fun to push through the pain, but long-term, you will regret it. And cartilage doesn't heal the way ligaments do.
