Knee injuries..

dislocated my knee a couple hours ago for the 2nd time and im not sure if theres ligament damage. It just twisted and came out and went back in after about 5 seconds. I also heard it pop when it went back in. should i get it checked or just try to deal with it?

Get an MRI asap.

Threadjack: Anyone have tendinitis? Does it affect your skiing at all? I recently learned that I have tendinitis in my left knee.

I doubt you tore a ligament, but it's not impossible. If it doesn't feel any better in a couple days, then go to the doctor.

Since you can still walk and ski you probably just strained/tweaked it. Rest and ice it a few days and if it still bugs you then go get it checked

Late... But I have knee dislocation problems too

First time I ever dislocated it, it stayed dislocated until I went to the doctor to get it popped back in. I know it seems like a pussy thing to do, but my knee was out of socket and I needed immediate help. I have dislocated it around 5 times after that, each time it popped back in after a few seconds. It's a really weird feeling.

I came across this thread because just about 10 minutes ago I fucked it again, and am afraid to enter the slope style comp at my mountain tomorrow. Probably not a great idea, and I'm fucking pissed.

GO TO THE DOCTOR AND GET AN MRI. I've had 3 knees surgeries to try and correct this. The ligament is called an MPFL (medial patella femoral ligament), I'm still working on coming back. This is the worst injury for an athlete. Get it looked at.

Just had surgery for that, two meniscus tears, and a carriage tear yesterday, yet I still skied on it for a few weeks. Definitely go to an ortho to get it looked at if there is any doubt in your mind about your knee I'd say.
