Knee fluid?

Everytime i go skiing and i usually don't do park that usually but jumping off cliffs and just skiing and rotation every time I'm done and take my knee brace off my whole knee has fluid in it and my meniscus hurts a little. I tore my meniscus about 11 months ago and it hasn't been that swollen since i went skiing last year . I can ski and stuff but it gets so full of fluid that it restricts me from moving it all the time. And when i walk around and stuff i it clicks and stuff more. So is there any oils or something that i can do to help it treatment i ice it time to time

I have almost the same problem, and something called ice massage works for me. If you haven't done it, pretty much fill up some paper dixie cups and then freeze them, and then once they're frozen peel off the top of the cup and kinda "massage" where the fluid is for around 20 minutes or however long you feel like doing it. Since you're basically using an ice block that has somewhat of an edge it helps to push the fluid out.

NS isnt a doctor

Yes - first question is what does your doctor say about this?

Don't fuck around with your Knees. Most important part of a skier's body, and regularly the thing that goes the most wrong. You need to treat your knees with the utmost respect, and only a trained medical professional can properly diagnose what is going wrong!

You may have a baker's cyst. I had one last season. Basically the fluid from the center of your knee is spilling out into the back of your knee thru a tear in the synovial layer. It can be pretty painful and cause a lot of inflammation in the back of the knee.

I had no idea what was wrong with my knee. Had to wait 3 months to get an mri and in the meantime my pt had convinced me my pcl was torn because all of the pain and swelling was in the back of the knee. Fun times. Get it checked out

The swelling is called an effusion. It is commonly seen with meniscal tears, though other things can also cause it. Clicking could be many things (or nothing, lots of people's knees click), but a catching sensation would be more specific to a meniscal tear. Oils won't help. Go see a doctor.

I just went to physical therapy for the first time after breaking and getting surgery on my femur and they gave it a light massage behind the knee and around my quad and although it is still swollen af it felt alright for the first time since the accident. So yeah keep it moving and press the area in circles and it should help a little.

Ehhhh take a needle and stab a little hole in it and let the fluid ooze out my friend.. I do it! So it has to be a great idea!
