Knee Braces

After years of skiing, motocross, mountain bikes my knees are absolutely destroyed, last weekend I fucked my knee once again, Ive come to the conclusion that I need to wear knee braces whenever I am out having fun, I mean motocross I will not ride without my asterisk knee braces, I think that is the direction I need to go with my skiing as well. Which braces are you guys rocking??

I want some opinions, I think my asterisk will work great but also if there is a good but not so bulky option I would love to look into that.

I use CTI custom vapours on both knees skiing. They are really low profile and don't bother me in the park, pow or even really long tours. Definitely would recommend.

Yeah, threads. Would love a slim, lightweight knee brace, that's not a stupid ridiculous price, like asterisk for example.

I had reconstructive surgery on my ACL and meniscus, and my orthopedic surgeon told me that braces are worthless at preventing re-injury to ligaments. If you have the torque on your knee to tear an ACL, a brace won't stop it. But they are obviously protective against impacts, which is why almost every NFL linebacker wears them. If you don't have insurance and aren't planning on getting hit laterallly on your knee, it probably won't help you much. Them shits are pricy

I play football for Alabama and was actually talking about this with our trainers the other day. The DonJoy knee braces you see all the offensive linemen wear aren't to protect for rotational acl tears. The most common injury is not self-inflicted but caused when a player next to them falls and rolls into them at an awkward angle. They are designed to help prevent tears and damage from lateral or straight on. Not from a torsional motion, thus probably not being worth it for a skiing application. They obviously could help a little with torsional strains but not enough to wear them as a end all be all.

This^^

I swear by my DonJoy Fourcepoint Armour brace, light, comfortable and mega sturdy, it is a bit pricey though.

Also Americans get a cash guarantee if you re-break the knee whilst wearing the brace.
