Knee braces....

so i have torn my acl 3 times now, 1 time i tore it while wearing my braces. I have 2 donjoy knee braces, supposeivly its imposible to tear your acl in these knee braces, well i proved that wrong, so because i did they told me that if it happens agian then they will give me 1,000 dollars everytime i do it agian starting now.... just thought i'd share this also this proves that there is no knee brace that can actually prevent you from tearing your acl, i still wear mine anyway because they make me feel protected, but dont tear your acl it sucks.....

yeah acl's suck i tore mine they gave me this costumized brace it seems pretty stable, but it's not like it will actually guarentee nothing will happen.
 
what are they replacing your acl with? i just had my acl reconstructed and they used my patella tendon, and the doc says it should be just as strong if not stronger than it was before
 
actually ALL studies have shown little difference in re-injury rate w/ w/o a brace on. After my pcl/mcl/acl replacement (cadavar ankle)..my ortho did not want me to order a brace and he showed me all the journal articles and results..they are helpful if your knee is week or missing a piece (torn acl or like not) but as far as re-injury AFTER surgery and proper rehab? they don't seem to do much
 
well i also didnt take it easy once it wasd fully rehab, i did some very dumb thiungs that probly helped lossen my knee up, but at the time i didnt think it was hurting me or doing that, once you tear your acl you have to be a hole lot smarter about your choices that involve your knee.....

i rock one all the time on my left Knee. I tore My MCL about 3 months ago, and am just now starting to get all my motion back kinda. The doc said it was about all the way through but not quite, i got lucky. Now i wear it just to stop the pain pretyt much if i ever tweak it funny
 
I use the neoprene ones on both knees when I ski. My right meniscus seems to be a bit screwed or something, and my knees dont hurt at the end of the day when I wear the braces. They also make for a little padding when I fall on my knees on a jib or something.

I would wonder if those Asterik knee braces work well? They are hella expensive, but the design looks solid.
 
Dude you are fucking stupid, they dont claim that "its impossible to tear your acl in our knee brace". You my friend are fucking ignorant, and u prob tore it because you wernt strong enough for you wernt ready.
 
do you work for the knee brace company? you sound like a fuckin 12 year old who doesnt know what the fuck there talking about, and did i not say they were torn agian because i pushed my knees a lil to hard by doing dumb things and not thinking anything about it and eventually it did get to weak to stand up to the pressure i was putting on it? so please shut the fuck up....its not like your a damn doctor or an owner of a knee brace company, plus who like you at all? all you do is blast on people, get a fucking life and go do something worth while.....

Dude, you have no idea what you're talkin about, first, i am 17. Second, i had knee surgery for my ACL and i now ski a brace and im 6 months out, and when i got my brace (donjoy) they specificly said that it is still possible to tear your acl even with a brace, it just takes the % down from like 12& to 8%, dont get fucking pissed at a company cause you didnt listin to them. Sorry you have torn it 3 times, i can see why you would be pissed, but im gonna just clear it up you can tear an ACL with a brace on.
 
dude im not pissed about it at all i think its kinda cool that if i tear my acl in my brace that they will give me a 1000 dollars for doing that, its like ima go try to tear now, also if you have a don joy brace then you would also know that they do gareentee it, if you look at all the information they gave you when you purchased it there should be a card that has there gareentee on it and has a place to fill out all of your information and then you send it in, and if you are wearing one of there braces when you tear your acl then they will give you 1000 dollars.....

Yeah, they do give you money for your next surgery if you do, but they dont gareentee that you wont tear it. And you're gonna try to tear it now? You have fun doing that.
 
that was to pussyfooter, and i tore it the frist time in my right knee jumping on a trapoline when i was 10, then tore it in my left knee a second time by coming up short an a 50 footer, and then tore it in my left knee agian by chaching an edge on a triple kink last year....

i hope i wont im movin to colorado, steamboat and from what i hear its mostly powder out there (ive never skied much out of north carolina) and here on the east coast its all ice so that doesnt help my knee out any more, but hopefully the powder will be sick and alot easyer on my knee......
