Kits are now cooler than tricks

So after riding park city lately and hearing people in the lift lines obsess over their kits I have come to a troubling and downright disturbing epiphany that "kits" are now more important than a skiers traditional ability to toss sick tricks. Honestly it is irking me seeing these kids prioritize their thrift store attire (honestly not even an original idea, stolen from NYC skating and snowboarding #biter) over classic tricks. which brings me to the supposed kit god himself wibbity wabs who exemplifies this problem honestly seen him dicking around on the pills at PC waving his arms clearly wanting to be the bunch, and i have never even seen a shot of young wabs going cork, just doing style turns on the knuckle. Is it just me or is the whole kit thing a phase and these over rated kit gods just fall into oblivion? discuss below... i just want to see good tech rail tricks and solid corks come back into style instead of overalls and goofy bubble gum mittens

threadz. also; let the people do whatever the fuck they want. if they wanna talk about how good they look all the power to them. Skiing isnt about whos the best its about pushing and enjoying yourself. I couldnt give less of a fuck if a skier is going down a green run with the best "kit" on the mountain, let him do him and you do you. Goddamn haters worrying about everyone except themelves. Work on you and go from there.

ok well honestly these guys are going to the thrift store every other week and probably dropping all sorts of coins on these new kits instead of re investing their money into core brands that support the industry and pay guys who are actually pushing the sport like alex hall and quinn wolferman and colby stevenson. I dont see the salvation army supporting projects like dawn of the corkers....

I just see guys like wabs and alex hackel and these guys pushing a trend that is not benefiting the greater industry at all and that is frustrating to see especially when their ability is not even up to par with alot of the more old school and traditional skiers out there

Dude is so dedicated to supporting "core brands" that he made it his username HAHAHA

Damn back in my day NS would have called the fact that this is an obvious troll account in the first reply...

What are they feeding kids these days that's making them so autistic?

for me, it was vaccines.

this fucking clown is complaining about ALEX HACKEL and WABS. hackel can triple and wabs buys on3p skis you fucking knob. 90% of those kids are repping vishnu or on3p shut the fuck up about supporting core brands. Youve had ns for less than a day and you wanna talk shit about pros promoting the sport.

I come back to NS after a year and this is what it's become? You kids are mentally deficient to say the least.

Well done troll, +k for you.

Maybe they are skiing for fun and doing it how they want. Why does everything have to be about benefiting the industry and comparing everyone's ability level. Youll have to excuse them for not following the traditional pro skier stereotype.

This is how it's been with every sport forever.. the gear is more important for most of the people then the sport itself. In my opinion both of them are what makes the sport fun. I enjoy having a sweet kit and having quality gear which makes my skiing experience so much better

What is a kit?

A combonation of attire that one wears while skating for skiing. An outfit crafted by the heavens. It's fun to watch wabs once in a while and chances are slim to none but if everyone were to switch up the style and follow in his footsteps, skiing would be an absolute joke.

rule #1: look good

skiing has always been a fashion show my man....for better or worse!

Until like 05 ish you could kind of tell who was good based on look though. The outerwear the twins obviously. Then over the next few years less and less.

Then it hit the point where the steeziest looking people were the gapers half the time.

The world went crazy. I mean you can buy fucking hello kitty twin tips now.(Mom/santa if you're reading this, christmas. Hook me up)

lol its funny because you said hackel isnt technical but hes probably 100x better than you... and he can triple.

i see this skier called owl boy at savers all the time.

honestly i would rather see someone dress up like a nocturnal bird than watch another person "bounce" and "swerve" and "styleturn" through the park in some overalls they found at the thrift store

if your definition of core skiing is what you are making this thread out to be, I mean you just aren't right. This thread is painful to read but the fact that you brought up Hackel and Wabs is making you look pathetic. You don't know what you are talking about and NS is too trigger happy (myself included) to let this autistic thread die.

obvious troll is obvious

just do your own thing and have fun skiing it doesnt have to be any more complicated than that

You get sponsors based on your social media presence these days rather than your actual skill. Fact. Clicks sell kits.

Without fashion we would all just be telemarkers.
