the best way i have found is by making it like a small like 1" to 1/2" drop onto the down of a d-f or to make the d-f transition just overlay the materials that little bit

check out my pic of my rail in my media. I have a 10 foot kink that I just built. The pic I think shows it pretty well. Mine is wood though. I still need a surface.
