Ok so I was going to buy bindings from this guy and then i sent him the payment and then it turns out i didnt need them so i asked for a refund. then i left to a camp for 8 days. then i came back and this is the message exchange.

you went against the buyers wishes because you didnt know if i wanted it back - like 2 bucks? so you already shipped them? Well im shipping them back and i expect a refund.

I didnt know if you wanted the money minus the paypal. You paid. It was a transaction so I couldnt wait any longer so I followed through with the sale like it was.

Ill send back the $106 I have after the 3% paypal fee. But thats probably the worst back out I have ever seen.

Okay so I just sent you the payment of 110 for the bindings, but a last minute change turns out i dont need them. Could i have the money refunded please?

 
thats lame, but u did back out on a sale after sending him the money, and if u went away for 8 days u probably shoulda told him... you made it into a big hassle for him...
 
he is legit, you just backed out and went away for 8 days without telling him. good job.

remind me to never make a transaction with you.
 
meh you are both kind of at fault. you can't expect him to send them back without further follow up, you should have let him know you were going to be out of town for a week and wouldn't be able to exchange messages. but he shouldn't have sent the bindings either.

But regardless of what HAS happened, you should still be able to get your money back now minus whatever fees and shipping at your expense.
 


IMO

What should be done about this is that he should refund you your money minus costs of pay pal and minus what it cost to ship to you.. so like 90-95$.. Kinda shady for you to back out but you definitely should have told him that you were leaving.
 
Its not his fault that you backed out from a $110 purchase and he shipped them as soon as he could, like a legit seller...
 
he should refund you, but he should not lose any money on it. meaning he gives you whatever he got out of the bindings after shipping, and you pay for shipping back to him...
 
Yea if i was in his position, i would do the same thing.

1. You didnt notify him you were going away after the transaction.

2. Dont back out next time, think wisely.
 
I'd re-sell them.

It's a fine line - You committed to buy..At least he is shipping them.

If you don't get the binders and you don't get a refund, then it's non-legitness.
 
ok i understand that i did back out and it was my mistake. I didnt tell him i was leaving, my mistake. but hes still not willing to let me ship them back to him and get my money refunded at no cost to him... thats not right. ^and if you're just gonna be an asshole why post?
 
you were claiming that he wasnt legit because he actually shipped something after you paid him.

and we're the assholes here?
 
umm yeah, i'd say at least you got the binders, and i feel for him, i need 110 dollars more than some binders (kind of contradicting the binders i just bought but w/e) so if you already paid and backed out that second and then just suddenly went away without telling him, you're the one who made the mistake, he just got the money and shipped the binders, and then maybe didn't want to return them because you'd already done the transaction
 
You weren't "going" to buy bindings, you did buy bindings. If you did this to me I would have told you tough luck, resell them yourself. It's your own fault for not thinking the purchase through. If he scammed you it would be completly different.
 
I didn't even think there was paypal fees once the money in paypal. Regardless you should have said your leaving and for him to just send the money back, but on his part there's no need to send the binders, you said you want a refund, even if you don't respond you obviously just wanted the money back sending the binders was a dick move just to say the sale is "final"
 
yeah man if anyone messed up that deal it was you. sorry but its the truth. dont buy something unless you know you can afford or need it.
 
not sure if this was covered, but if you just cancel the transaction the paypal 3% is not charged to the sender or receiver.. keep that in mind.

ie. click the transaction and their's a button to cancel.
 
dude if anyone isn't legit it's you. you bought the bindings from him, it's your fault. all he did was get the money and ship them as fast as possible. you backed out, learn to think it through next time. re-sell them, you might lose a few bucks but learn from your mistakes and don't back out next time.
