Kings not opening til early feb, are you kidding me PC?

wait PC is closing early or kings? either way it's bullshit but if PC is closing I will be super pissed

my mistake. im sure the park managers or people that have some say with the PC operations look at this forum from time to time, just trying to get my point across.

ttook a stroll through kings today, looks like you all have been heard.

current line:

up flat up

down elbow rail

down bar (donkey dick) - down box (donkey dick)

down flat down rail - down flat down box

wallride - double barrel flat rail

bonk - up rail

jump - single barrel

jump - bonk

jump - pole jam - bonk

jump

bonk

bonk

bonks are a mix between a few different kind of taps

jump landings look steeper, and felt steeper however i didnt hit them today.

looked pretty fun.

dont freak out at me if all of those features arent the exact things, for the most part that is what i remembered what they were.

cheers

Hahahahah I ski at the canyons and it does not compare to PC at all... Canyons park is trash, the snow is always trash on the run, small 6 jump line is pretty terrible, jib selection is super limited, and the quad-line could defintely flow better.

no its a 4 jump line now. that was replaced with what it appears to be a step over. i can never tell what jumps are what i could care less. a jump is jump to me. gets ya in the air gettin major hangtime

Thats pretty much the same as its been minus the random shit on the side of each jump.

I've heard the jumps are a little better now, i guess they redid the landings? i dunno, ill report back tomorrow.

Na I'll still get one. 8 sick ass jumps a shit ton of rails, bonks canons ect.

This thread makes PC sound really bad when in reality everything that people have been complaining about is pretty nit picky.

oh I agree. I don't have a problem with PC, I understand building a park is difficult and you can't please everyone. I was just saying that Brighton and Canyon's parks this year are fun (I've heard) and that may lead to less people getting passes to PC next year

New jumps in pick are awesome, glad to see PC actually build something new.

Kings jumps are better apparently but they basically cut down the take offs and made the landings steeper, they really need to just rebuild. they added a stepover jump i guess but its hard to get speed for.

where the small 3 pack was is now a like 15-20 step overish to 35-40 ft stepover second jump is pure tits

I think a little more creativity in the parks wouldn't hurt. I mean they DO have that huge field of jibs off of homerun right? Why don't they start using some of those? More features with multiple ways of hitting them would be grand. Also, I took a spin through Kings today. Looked pretty fun. I'd say the first part before the jibs is sort of like last years setup. They really need to do some work on it.

^they showed us in the beginning of the season how creative they could be with some reallly cool set ups. i made a post on their facebook asking about the lack of creativity and abundance of down/flat(boring) rails/boxes...no response.

they obviously just don't care what we think, since apparently we're being too nit-picky. i just want a park that's not boring as hell.

Gather $35, hop in your car and drive 2 hours to a place called Pomerelle Mountain Ski Resort. Ride there all day, then tell me you hate Park City

Spoiled

I don't think the mentality that "there are people who don't even have half of what you do!" makes a ton of sense.
Compared to the drive and desire to be the best that the mountain used to show, they seem to be showing more of a "it's good enough" attitude. To me, that isn't something to be proud of. It is lazy. Would you be happy if your heart surgeon showed little interest and decided to be "probably good enough?"
Motivation and drive is a good thing for a company and shows strength. It is certainly disappointing when someone who used to put in a lot of effort and desire to be the best, decides to quit and just settle for mediocre. Sure, they don't "have" to do anything. But a company certainly can't expect to have happy customers when they start to lose effort.

okay so today is bad example because PC had about 4 inches or so of heavyish snow fall, but the park has literally been in awful shape every time I have been there the past 2 weeks or so. Its was a sunday and I only saw one guy shaping the park lips (some features lips were completely gone by 1 PM. From where this mountain was 2 years ago when I first came here to now is like night and day . Just really not impressed with the rail selection this year, kings is descent now stoked that its gonna be gone soon....

well shit.

I actually kinda like kings right now, it has decent flow from the elbow through the first jump. more could have been done jib-wise (those propane tank taps are weird...), but idk i dont think it was that big of a deal. small side jumps are fun, havent hit big side.

Hopefully next year will be better, but im not too upset with the current setup.

I would be buying a canyons pass if their park did not open so late, the only reason I would get a pc pass, so I am just going to work my ass off and buy both for next year. Or work at pc till the canyons park is up then quite.

The Launch is a literal launching pad for the next generation of snowboarders. The Launch is the premier snowboarding event featuring 50 of the world’s best 13-17 year olds. These kids are snowboarding’s future super stars.
Taken from the PC calendar for the last days of the season guessing thats what they are closing down and getting ready for... No kings for the rest of the year. Glad they opened the slope course for a month. This is my first season here so i cant base it off anything but managment seems to be selling their parks to the highest paying bidder and ignoring the locals.

pc's pretty much always been all about closing parks for photoshoots and stuff, we just know about it in advance now haha

It seems like it they are selling their parks off a lot this season. None of this shit happened last year at all. I'm pretty sure kings was open till like the end of march, too.
