Really? Fuck off PC, why are you deep throating monster and FIS? Kings opened at this time last year, you guys were blowing TONs of snow on kings and now you're only letting monster and pc riders hit king for a month? WTF? are you kidding me? why cant you care about the people who support you so much? Sure, were not your main financial source but were everything else. WTF coops you were killing it last year and now you're no better than jim mangin himself, greedy as fuck and not giving a fuck about your pass holders.

Copper, you're blowing it. I don't care how corporate it is, you could have prevented this shit, you don't need to reserve a park so that pc and monster "athletes" (bag jump went SUPER WELL, NOT) when they can ride or ski the same park as use at the same time.

Disappointed.

Yeah it sucks. I don't get it. I guess we can just hope some crazy storms roll in over the next month so they have shitty ass conditions while they are wasting money to reserve it, and we can all just have fun and ski pow while it's closed.

yeah, sucks that kings isnt going to open, but pick is a solid fun time. I'm stuck at the canyons which doesn't have shit open or worth hitting. feb is only 2.5 weeks away, hit some rails in the mean time.
 
I dont get why the couldnt have put that fucking QP bag jump somewhere else on the hill and kept working on kings to get it open for the public. $6.50 hot dogs AND no Kings?! what the fuck park city.
 
I dunno what mountain you ride at that have 60ft step overs and sick rail setups not in the park...
 
I just wish they would figure out that they could just as easily use all the snow to build a siiiiick step over that the pros can learn tricks on, and even film on privately for a couple mornings, then open it to the public! How hard is that to figure out.

At least the canyons fucks over pass holders because they are retarded and not just pro hos.
 
Yea when i lived in Breck thats how photoshoots are managed . It makes NO sense to market a mountain and then only make the photographed features exclusive.
Also can PC leave the airbag alone and fix the flat-down box, it could be way sick but that takeoff is horrible i saw only one person all day hit that box properly. Also the up rail's deck is wayy too long ...thats just my 2 cents..
 
I have no opinion on this since I don't have a PC pass this year...but PC doesn't get its money from you. Mathematically speaking you are spending less on your seasons pass than a tourist spends on 3 days of skiing at PC.
They money that monster probably paid PC to have their sponsorship in that park for photo shoots with pro athletes etc is likely way more than any amount of money locals paid for their seasons passes.
 
kings has alway been my escape from the 3 kings lift line. dealling with mobbed lift lines out east over break was enough to deal with. i was incredibly stoked to get back out here and start shredding dope laps through kings. but no, if i want to ride park im still confined to the lines in 3 kings. FUCKING WEAK PARK CITYand i dont give a fuck who is paying them, it should be about the park rats that ride everyday, or even the many park rats that vacation here and pay out the ass to shred your parks. way to sell out.
 
Pow would > Kings....If we had some fucking pow! I was gone for the holiday storms, and haven't skied pow all year. We need some fucking storms. Not just 2" every now and then.
 
Indeed, it is difficult though. I'm probably just going to go out tomorrow and rip through the deep 2" it looks like we will get tonight to help settle these withdrawals.
 
Yeah How dare Cooper allow Monster to throw hundreds of thousands of dollars their way to purchase/build/and maintain their immaculate parks that you get to ski the other 5 months out of the season! Shit aint cheap.. Part of the reason Mangan is gone is budget cuts, Cooper brought money in from elsewhere to not only maintain but improve the level of park skiing/riding we have all come to expect out of park city!
 
Thats true and this is probably REALLY ignorant and are terrible calculations on my part but:
Even if only 200 people, skiers and snowboarders both, bought season passes without night riding for 450. PC would still make $90,000 off of those passes. Im sure it could even be double that though, and they don't want to lose that. Canyons has a large 4 jump line as of today? That looks better than what PC has on paper. All Im saying is PC does have to look out for pass holders too, and most of the well known parks in the west have a lot more open to the public right now. Especially if PC doesn't have a big park open until February, pass holder money will go elsewhere in the future..
 
I agree. Total bullshit that the park crew is spending all their time working on private shoot jumps. Personally, If I were one of the athletes that frequently rode PC a lot, I would be pissed that they are building all these jumps and not opening up the other parks. I'm suprised no monster riders have boycotted it....I know I would But I guess money talks in situations like this. Until then, I don't mind super lapping eaglet and 3 kings.
 
The answer is money whether you like it or not. No mountain really cares about the local passholders who go 60+ days a year.
 
I think it seems to speak to the level of the parks overall. Park City tries to come off as one of the best in the country, which it could be, but will not be when they do shit like this. Keystone and Breck manage to get their parks in full swing by January, while being able to manage comps and shoots. Breck handles dew tour and still has their park open to the public in december usually. I think its bullshit personally, they could manage their obligations and still look out for everyone else, but choose not to do the work.
 
I know why its happening but I meant no statement from pc, usually they have someone who posts on NS about shit and responds to complaints and such.
 
I'm still pissed that they painted over the sick graffiti on all the rails with that puke green shit and annoying gay ass I RIDE PC stencils
 
yeah I was super confused, especially with the "give it time (for the storms to come) my friend"
anyway, a part of me is kinda kicking myself for not getting a pc pass this year, but all my friends went canyons and it was either have fun days with friends or ride pc alone, plus I kinda wanted a change in scenery, I've been at pc for yeeaaars. next year I'll be back though, hopefully I'll be have enough money then to get passes to both
