KINGS CROWN REVAMP PETITION

The landings in Kings straight up suck! And they delammed your skis today! It is definitely time for a tuneup in every park...please change some stuff up and especially tweak the Kings jumps!

from a safety standpoint its straight up ignorant for PC to only have one park for gapers/joey's to ride through, jonesy's has at least 3 sled rides a day and one heli visit every few days now that it's the only park (kings intimidates gapers) its Bullshit that we are left in the dark , there are parks on the east coast doing a better job than PC which is fucking mind blowing seeing as- to the PC rep it lives to. I think on behalf of the freesking nation of Utah we demand answers and replies to our concerns. What is up with jump # three and the bump in the tranny its flat out dangerous. Where is the PC NS rep why doesn't he work with this regional thread anymore?

Please fix the jumps in kings! And please open pick and shovel! Its horse shit that its closed all week. And jonseys needs an intense revamp too.

i was goin in switch and that bump bucked me and i got slamed right into the lip of the jump hurt so bad i still cant really walk cuz my hip has a bruse the size of africa on it

I just posted a link to this thread on the Ride Park City blog, maybe someone will see it now...

Kings has gotten to the point where it is straight up dangerous. After taking like 10 laps through my legs and feet can not handle it anymore. The landings are sooo NOT steep. The line straight up has the wackiest speed ever and the take offs have moguls, bumps or in the words of my buddy WOO TANGS in them. Its kinda absurd when supposedly one of the "best parks" around is the most dangerous, painful and just.... not even close to the best. REBUILD, RESHAPE and PLEASE FINISH THE SEASON LIKE IT STARTED

and I know you cannot control the weather, but I have NEVER seen a park crew member in kings ever. By 12-1 EVERY DAY the lips of the jumps have canyons carved into them do to warm snow conditions, but when hitting jumps that are decently big it is really just dangerous.

Ok... I hadn't responded to this thread because I figured it would get some attention from PCMR at some point... but it was much longer than I thought.

Yeah... we know the Intelligent design contest is huge, it'll attract more people to PC than most other events, but you can't forget about the kids that spend every single day shredding PC, hyping PC, telling their families and other kids on NS to go there, making edits there that are pretty much free promotional tools for you. Kings started out sick, but for the last two weeks it's been miserable. The landing are far to flat, it's dangerous. It's that time of year where we can all feel the season slowing down, and it sucks to have less than optimal park features to end the season with.

please... thanks. get some.

what i've come to realize is the parks probably won't get much attention for the rest of the year, especially with only like a month and a half or so left in the season, and a major campetition eating up all the time they could be spending on parks that the people who spend hard earned dollars, to shred all season, ski. pc doesn't give a fuck about the locals, they only seem to care when the PROOOOs aren't around.

i've had many a conversation about a full switch to the canyons last year and this year i've only gotten more motivated to not even ski at pc anymore. everytime i've been to the canyons this year i've talked to someone on the park crew and even the head park guy and they're all so damn stoked on hearing what the people riding the park have to say about the set ups. seeing their step ups in quality from a few years ago to last year to this year i know it's only going to get better. and if not...at least i have the same quality of pc, only without the gigantic crowds and packed parks and idiot lifties.

I know it's hard work to push around real heavy snow and the weather isn't cooperating but something's gotta give. I was so stoked when kings got put up. It was pretty early and they were some good solid jumps. However, King's hasn't changed except for a roller and down rail (month ago). Last year Kings had a major change I believe 3 times. Jonesey's at the end of the year was so sick. The last 2 days of PC's being open were super fun and I think everyone loved the last 2 days. However now Jonesey's is pretty well maintained but it is packed with gapers, King's is so damn inconsistent, and pick isn't open for a week. Not only is it not enjoyable, but the jumps are actually dangerous to kids who know what they are doing. This shouldn't be the case. This is Park City, UT we have a reputation to uphold. Now I know the resources don't allow for a double large 3 line like Keystone has but when my two friends call PC a baby park that normally ride Keystone and I can't defend it, something is wrong. Again, I like a lot of the guys on the park crew and I know some of you guys were up there super late in cats getting shit pumped out for kings but shit's gotta be fixed. Remember the people posting in here are the kids that are put PC in videos, coach kids there, and are there 3+ days a week.

Please build safe features, that I do not over shoot. Pushing up steep, (or not so steep in your case)planes of snow, and then arbitrarly placing wedges equal to the size of the landing, 40 feet back is not how to build jumps.

yea im just kinda dissapointed that kings and pick havent changed at all since they were put up. I guess there have been rails added to pick but never really a change. Even last year which was basically a powder year and was not supposed to be the greatest park year, we saw the parks change a few times throughout the year. Its weird to think how crowded kings was last year and everytime i ride through this year I'm usually one of the only people in there.

Do you guys realize that it's been above freezing for the last two weeks. It is impossible to winch the landings on the big jumps when it is this warm. We are completely paying attention to the parks and doing the best job we can under the circumstances. This is a freaking witch hunt. You guys really need to go and experience other parks. We've worked our asses off all season to make it great up here. We've tried to include and bring in new features as much as possible. Look at the weather out there!!!! Come on. When it gets cold enough we plan to winch the landing immediately. Maybe we'll make a bigger jump in king's, but for now with the way the weather is we are not doing anything. It's funny....I haven't had time to get on here in the past couple weeks, but I can't believe it has come to this. We built the rails and boxes that all you suggested this summer. We didn't change up Pick that much because we built Jonesy's! When you are bored of one park go to the other! We've had so much stuff up this year. We could have less parks and dedicate more time to switching more stuff up. Give us a freakin' break. We completely care about the parks and not just the event. There's not much snow out there and I understand that the parks become the focus, but you clearly have to use common sense and realize how incredibly difficult it is to maintain everything when it is this warm.

Canyons has been killing it with tons of fun rails, boxes and step over jumps.

Step it up so we can enjoy the end of our season PC.

if it's too warm to work on jumps then set up some different rails! That amazing flat down single barrel has been sitting on its side in joneseys all season... and switching off between pick and joneseys worked great when pick was open. I'm sure all this bitching is annoying but we're just giving you our feedback and I think we've just been bummed at the lack of changes made in that last couple weeks.

Jim, im mainly upset about how pick has been closed for so long for no reason. You guys literally did the work you could do in one night over the past week.

So we sucked it up and went to ski jonsey's, since kings jumps are way to sketch to hit right now and there are like 3 good rails to hit in one run. We've skied jonseys like 5 days in a row now and i literally only like 3 features in that park, everything in lower/lower lower jonseys have no landings and hurt so bad to land off of. Not to mention the first jump landing is a death trap, the 2nd jump is flat and impossible to not overshoot and the step up is fun but SO small.

I feel like you guys could be doing a lot better right now. At least switch up some rails in jonseys and make some landings and fix the jumps since you can't fix the jumps in kings.

People talk about switching to canyons, which i dont think i could ever do, since when pick was open it was way better than canyons. This new pick park better live up to the hype you're giving it.

the parks suck, its plain and simple i have had a pass to pc for the last 5 years and it is nothing what it once was.jim you say go ride other parks. well i have and park city dose not compare to them.Pc dose not have a jump over 50 feet. There is no variation in the jumps its small or big no middle size and the speed, lips, landings, ect.. change every day
hopeful you see that what your doing is not working it is time for a change

the hell with kings.... open all that new stuff in pick to public after the contest!!!YEs???That QP looks MONEY!!!!!

I think good old jim there needs to take shawn whites dick out of his mouth, along side with dc and any other industry people that give him free gear/respect for doing what they tell him to (pro bitch? ), then at this point jim could actually see how bad he is at his job!

There really is no excuse for how crappy Kings and Jonsey's are right now. At least last year in Jonsey's there were a couple bigger jumps to hit when Kings got baked. Jonsey's sucks this year. Last year at least you changed stuff up. The conditions in Kings right now are just an excuse....nothing has been changed in there since it opened really....

Do everyone a favor and open Pick to the public after the comp....hopefully it won't melt by then.

Jimmy, I DEFINATLY realize how warm its been..... I'm a free groomer at PC myself and yeah the snow has been less than epic to work with for sure but somehow we manage to get our job done as do your guys but..... instead of catering to the paying costumer your catering to some bullshit contest. Jeff, Tyson, Skylar, Keola, and Chris have have been busting there asses but its all been in Pick, I see someone roll into Jonsey's at 6am and till that shit out real quick every morning. Mt Hood has better public parks in the middle of the summer, If you can't winch a landing and thats your excuse for an unsafe landing.... THEN TEAR THE TAKE OFF DOWN! I skied at mammoth for six years and its 50 or snowing all year there and Mammoth's jumps on a crappy day are better than kings was at 9:00 am the first day it was open. This shit its painful to look at and even more painful to ski. Sure it may be the best park city has ever been but it doesnt mean its good. I think YOU need to look at some other parks across the country and maybe youll have your eyes opened, I'm ashamed that I ski at a mountain that doesn't care at all about the type of skiing I do. Its bull shit. You should be apologizing not defending your poor job, Not to mention the fact that when i complained in the park today YOUR STAFF day crew proceeded to call me a faggot and a pussy wanting to fight me in fucking Jonesy's... good bunch of guys you got there... and everyone reading this knows im the last person at PC thats a pussy and if i didnt work at the resort they would have gotten a nice trip to the ER. I have no faith that it will get better but at least you finally read this and maybe next year your empty parks might be decent?

Why didn't you knock the degressing jumps down in Kings and winch them before it got cold? They have been bad for awhile. Also...you seem to be constructing/winching jumps up fine in Pick right now...which is slushier snow at an even lower elevation. PC's parks make no sense to me at all this year...wtf?

MALONE For Park Manager!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BOOM ROASTED

im out for the season and never really got to hit kings but the amount of complaints ive heard about it is just unreal. you are not doing your job correctly and everybody knows it. you think it's too warm to make your landings steeper? what do you think they do at windell's, COC, MHSSC, momentum, and all the rest of the summercamps? and their jumps are always perfect. if they can sack up and build good jumps then you, the park manager of park city definitely can. please don't let my friends seasons end up like mine did with the unsafe jumps you have up right now.
thanks
Alex G

No sorry but its very true, the landings are higher and steeper making them true table ish, the 4th one looks like the landing could be steeper. The 2nd and 3rd look soooo money.

kings does seem to be slightly changed, the landings are now almost steep enough for about 10 feet and the lips appear to be rebuilt so they are pretty nice. Didn't hit them at all since it was shitty out and I was on snowblades so we'll see.

Jumps were fixed some.. landings have been flat butttttt I've been injured on and off all season, so any day on those jumps for me is a treat. Work on 2story bang... thats all i gotta say.
Was real sloppy out today, bit sketchy hittin the jumpers in kings. I feel like If the conditions were any harder tho, it would be wayyyy too flat even after the mini rebuild

awww it sounds like jimbo's butt got a little to hurt for all these posts! what a baby..... turns out PC's head park dude cant handle anything short from praise!
the truth is the truth.... learn to accept it rather than using your useless power to try to change it...BABY!

HAHAHA and as far as your friend going to meet his maker...

I THOUGHT YOU WERE A PARK MANAGER???? because it sounds more like your a travel agent taking us all on a guilt trip!

POOP DICK

dude who are you? I dont even ride park city and just because people feel that the parks are sucking right now or whatever you shouldnt ever rip on someones friend who just died? So what if the parks arent what they should be, there are things more important in life than skiing. Asshole.

haha i dont ride park city either! thats the best part.... but seeing how some old man makes excuses for his failing job is more gay than aids, jim manfucker, and poopy dicks all combined into one
I stopped making excuses when my mommy told me how pity it was when i was 15 years old.....
death is a part of life, get over it, do you job, then die yourself.....

^^^ yea man you are a horrible person. Theres never any need to bring anyones personal life this. This is a thread about people who ride park city and have concerns, not for someone to be an asshole for no reason

are you guys seriously calling him out that hard and talking shit to him??!
The guy is trying to do his job. I know the park is less than ideal but its still decent. its hard to maintain during shit weather. Theres more they could do with it but by no means does he deserve the treatment he is getting..
I agree that what could be done isnt getting done. Mammoth deals with this weather all season and they keep it prime.
He comes onto NS to get our opinions on the park, hardly any park managers will do that. I suggest you keep feedback in a constructive manner. Negative criticism destroys anything good that could come out of him being on ns and getting real skiers thoughts. Constructive criticism will let him know whats wrong or if he isnt doing his job and hopefully he'll respond in a positive manner.
