Buah! What crap! If there is snow enought at the top why dont they do what wateerville did last year and just have people ride the lift, no ski, to the area with snow and then ride the lifts that have snowy trails! It's a sure fire idea...esspeically if they have snow...and only do it for the weekend so they dont lose to much! Such genious!
they NEED to open. i am pretty sure that a bunch of people have been looking forward to this forever...and they should do whatever they can to be reallllllly loved. and alotof love would go out to killy if they opened this weekend.
no. killington pumps a shit load of monney onto the snowmaking system so they can open top to bottom. if they opened just the top sooo many people who want to go ski elsewhere besides the preseason park would have to ski for like 100 yards and hike back up. definitely not worth killi's effort. they will open top to bottom when they can and then people will say oh it was really good on opening day instead of yea they opened last week but it sucked.
chill aboutthis year turning shitty...Its November, we just had a coldfront and now heres a bit of a warmfront those things happen. its only early november
actually it might be the opposite of last year in that it could be crappy till like mid december then get really cold and snowy for the rest of the year till like early april. i could live with that.
killington is not going to be opening this weekend. hopefully, next weekend. howenever if you take a look at the whether, the next week is going to the be in the 50s everyday which is way too warm to make snow, and this past week they lost all the snow they had already made . id take bets on thanksgivign kids.. not to make anyone cry even more or anything, but its not looking good for next weekend
they definitey have snow on the upper mountain http://www.killington.com/igallery.html theres no way that melted in a day, but they need at least 2 or 3 nights to make snow on the lower mountain
I can not see anyway killington will be opening the weekend of the 18th or for thanksgiving. I live 30min away and it is in the mid 50's and raining, and the forecast of the week calls for more of the same, with it possibly reaching the mid 60's. So, I would not plan for thanksgiving if I were you
i cant imagine they open in nov at this point. They had a solid week of snowmaking and didnt open, itll prolly all melt with the 60 temps and rain and then assuming it doesnt rain and is cold I say weekend of the 26th mayyyybe, more likely first weekend of dec. last year we skied in oct! WTF MANNNN!
