Killington sucked.

On Saturday me and a few friends went up to Killington for a day of skiing. My friend nick who is 17 bought the young adult ticket which is for ages 18 and under. Every time we got on a lift the lifties questioned and carded him. It was completely ridiculous. We felt like we were criminals the way the lifties interrogate us on his age. Completely pathetic, I'll never go back. Everyone working there was grumpy, and seemed like they did not want us there. --props to the mountain though, the skiing was awesome, but not worth the hassle. Anyone else have problems with the same type of stuff?

^no its called a bisness, dont be mad at them be mad at the ass holes who make fake shit and take advantage of the place. Just to run there lifts its costs them 20k a day, and to keep eveything going and expanding they need the money.

Killington sucks, and its in my own backyard

the lifties are horrendous this year. Half dont speak english, they treat you like you just pissed on them, and generally they are rude. I had a liftie yank on my chain so hard to see my pass it broke and I had to go find a new chain

The entire staff (except for locals) are assholes. If a nametag doesnt have a town in vt listed, dont even bother

and its not BUSINESS, killington is horrible

I too hate killington.. I will never go back. My friend had his pass attached to a special pass holder on his pantys and was forced to change it to a zipper on his jacket instead, requiring him to get a whole new ticket... I fucking hate the place, and I don't think it's worth the 2.5 hour drive for me.

usually they are complete bitches, but if you complain they give vouchers at the courtesy desk in the base lodge without much hesitation.

U should all come to Mount Snow! I'm a terrain park ranger this year and I can't tell you how many times it has been stressed to ALL on mountain staff how important it is to be nice to all guests, ESPESCIALLY park rangers and lifties. I garuntee if you guys just come an hour south, the employees you come in contact with will be much friendlier, and the parks may even be bigger...;)

 
at my hill sometimes u can go a whole day without them checking ur pass, one time my friend skid a whole day without a pass

Yeah, he got carded nearly every time we rode a lift. The only time he didn't get carded was if he gave that same liftie a hard time the previous ride. Fuck Killington. The locals seem really cool though, but what's with all the foriegners at the lifts? I think mount snow will be my next vacation target. How far is it from Syracuse?

im waiting for the day American Skiing Company goes under and sells killington to some people who know how to run a mountain.

yeah its like a fucking military camp. its easier to get over the canadian border than it is to get on that gondola, between checking your pass every time, hole punching it(why???) and my friend having to pull out his ID since they thought he should have an adult ticket instead of a jr. retarded. and the skiing isnt that good either.

 
at stratton they have these devices that read the barcode on your pass.. so everytime u go to the lift u have to pull it out and have them scan it.. no way is anyone fucking them over with fake passes or getting away with no ticket..... I couldnt step 2 feet without having them scan mine.. and you had to watch like a 10 minute video to get into the power park on suntanner... which really took like 40 mins to get everything together.... but its worth it in the long run i guess

killington is nothing but a conglomeration of trail intersections,, you can ski, cause every two feet you cross a beginner trail and not to mention it is one of the worst laid out resorts i have ever been to,,

plus all the fuckin new yorkers that ski there,, you can have it i wont go back

 
word is killington is on the chopping block to be sold by none other then....DISNEY?

its just a rumor, but disney put one of their heads of their internal dept of aquisitions and whatever to work at killington to see if a) it was a salvageable business, b) help them get their shit straight

this is a crazy rumor but...you may be skiing with MICKEY...now how cool is that

I've been going to disney world since before i was born, every year. if they take over killington then i guarantee it will only get better. Disney has their shit down to an exact science. they treat their workers right because they demand top of the line service. i was on a disney cruise a couple years ago and someone said that a person commited suicide by jumping into the paddle wheel on the river boat. it was just hear say but it never got in the papers and never got into any kind of media. nobody dies in disney....

true... but if disney tackles a resort its going to be a way different ball game... not saying they cant make it good, cause they can... i just hope that they will do things right, and but as much effort into their parks as they do for their own parks in actual disney land.... wow i bet they would set up sick shit if that was the case..... ive never been to disney world though, i guess im a sheltered child.
