Killington Question

Seeing as killy is gay and all, and decides to close bear mtn when there's still tons of snow, and even 5" more, there are no freakin parks open tommorow at killy. the thing is, is that great eastern is open, the trail that runs along side the dream maker park. seeing as dream maker will be roped off, but most likely still have its features up, does anyone think it would be possible to just hike the first few boxes in the park. Anyone think the Ski Pigs or park crew will care that we duck a rope to hit a perfectly good park (i was there today, it was prime)? i really want to hit atleast some kind of box tommorow, and i don't see why i wouldn't be able to. all you gotta do is hike. anyone have any suggestions, or better yet, going to be there to hike with me and my friend?

well last season they did the same thing and closed Bear w/ tons of snow on it. They were pretty vigilante about clipping tickets for poachers, so I really dont know. I can almost garuntee they will mow all of the jumps, and the boxes/rails will be moved pretty quickly so I don't know if there will be much to session. I could be wrong though.

wowow thats lame! I was just there today, the pipe was still nice (even a bit icy!). I didn't hit up dream maker, but it is super lame that they would close it like that, they just got snow

It totally sucks that they do that, but it costs a lot to run the bear mountain lodge and all the lifts, and they sell almost no day passes after April 1 so who can blame them. I'm pretty sad that I won't be able to hit the dream maker jump line any more this season, but lets see what they put up on reason..that's what they said they would do at least.

they sabatoged wvweyhting by plowing mounds of snow in front, but they wrer puttng togeather the late season park on reason, with a down rail, propane take, a coulpe boxes, and that really wide pipe (thats all i could see)

so is the park with the juump line going to be open? or it just going to be jibs only? because im not taking a 4 hour day trip to not hit jumps

direct from killy's site

Terrain Parks/Halfpipe: Reason: Nine features, including a Mini Quarterpipe; 12" Up Pipe; Oil Tank on Quarterpipe.

ooh damn

killy's snow report says bear will reopen for friday and saturday. what's the deal with sunday?

cool...are you saying that because you know that dream maker as a run is accessible from bear? or because you know they haven't knocked down the jumps and will maintain them for the weekend?

thats what the park guys said at the end of sunday when i talked to them. They said they were gunna reopen bear and the park. Im assuming that they plowed piles infront of everything for safety/liability reasons, but im assuming they'll clear the piles out thursday night.

sick

but last year^^ i didnt notice that they clipped tickets... me and my bro hiked down from dreammaker to the pipe to see if it was open (it wasnt, it had caved in) and some ski patrol guy was like yeah i dont really care if you go down, cuz theres enogh snow and shit... he was like as long as i dont see you go down i dont care

so we hiked down but it sucked.... we built a littleass jump on one of the remnants of the kickers, but it being all slush u couldnt get any speed and it rutted really fast

but thatd be sick if it was open this weekend.. i just checked weather

Thursday: Periods of snow and sleet, mainly between 8am and 4pm. The snow could be heavy at times. High near 35. Southeast wind between 10 and 14 mph, with gusts as high as 29 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New snow and sleet accumulation of 6 to 10 inches possible.

that would be nasty

how much of last weekends snow is still there?

I think final verdict is that killington will be sick this weekend park or no park...especially sith 6-12 coming thursday into friday, and another storm sunday-monday which they turned from rain into snow!

unfortunately im super sick today but right now im looking out my window and its compleeeettely dumping right now. Like reaaally dumping. I live in Killington but like 10 min away from the mountain. Wish i wasnt sick today...

shit, i can't go this weekend, what about the 21st and 22nd? Will there still be jumps, considering thet temps are still prety cold and all the snow theyre getting tomorrow?

i was hoping that killy would be nice and open up bear that weekend like they're doing right now cause it's supposed to cold all week with another couple of feet midweek so why not

i went this weekend...all they had was park on east glade or reason whatever they call it now

but it kinda sucked so i just did bumps all weekend and got a huge sunburn

it was pretty decent

they had an accidental spine in dreammaker where they pushed all the extra snow from the jumps together

which was kinda sick but they didnt have bm quad open, only the skypeak

the park they had a barrel bonk that i didnt see anyone get enough speed to do, the angled thin box, small sized jump, 2 flat boxes, a down flat down step on box, a long poley thingy that i split :D but its like 2 feet off the ground, and a down barrel and a down rail

and an oil barrel
