supposed to open on the 14th, two weeks from friday. whos gonna go?

i've got exams friday but hopefully i'll make saturday

well he does live there and he knows a lot more people than all of us, plus killy's never going to try and be optimistic in the public's eyes so if and when they don't reach a goal they'll still look good

anyone know how much tickets will be? are they gonna be any cheaper cause its so early?^if they do open this weekend i'll prooobably come saturday. i just have to go once to hold me off until gay whaleback opens. whaleback's legit and all its just frustrating living right next to such a tiny mountain.

I wonder if they'll be able to survive this little warm-up of this week...

I really want to ski Friday afternoon as I don't have an afternoon class, but it doesn't look good.

anyone know the price of a ticket? i may go tuesday cuz i have it off. also how shitty is it, should i use my partially edgeless scratch sprayers or decent condish ghettos?

damn i heard it may be 60 bucks.

is the park hikable without making it obvious getting up to it that you didnt pay?

and would it even be worth it?

i skiied today i got there around 1230 and the conditions were rly good considering it was all man made.
the park was simple but good, flat down box, down rail, a barrel, and a mini hip. it was great to be skiing though

i got the day off from school tomorrow, thinking of heading up to killy, is it worth the 1.5 hr drive? do you think it'll be decent?

Just got back from there. It was pretty decent today. Lots of snow overall, but a few areas are thin, but with some groomer work they can make it deep again.

As for park, it was a small hip into a flat-down box into a barrel jib, into a down rail.

Can't complain for November 3rd...

I paid $29 and consider it to have been worth more than that.

But I suppose it all depends on how much you want to ski.

how did you pay $29 a bunch of my friends wanna go up with me next weekend and they dont have seasons passes

keep me posted on how it is later in the week if you don't mind, seems like they'll lose a lot of snow so i want to be sure before i head up

"We are committed to providing our guests with a quality top-to-bottom skiing and riding experience as weather and snow conditions permit through Thursday. Based upon the current weather forecast, we anticipate snowmaking temperatures will return Sunday evening and we're on target for re-opening on Friday, Nov. 14. Check back often for daily operational updates."

From what I'm reading, they are closing after Thursday, and will stay closed until the 14th.

Yup. The mountain is closed, plans are for reopening next Friday the 14th. Should be great conditions next weekend as we have cold nights for next week and a chance for natural snow too.

I see no issue with a re-opening by the 14th, possibly sooner. The core up high in the Northridge area survived with Rime still fairly well covered. Even the lower half of the mountain did well overall. A few nights snowmaking will have top to bottom restored no problem.

I take that back...

Based off what I have been given as info, they will likely not be spinning the lifts this weekend. They are hammering the upper mountain hard with snowguns, but they are holding off on snowmaking near the base. They will start snowmaking at the base once this little hiccup passes on Thursday, Friday and Saturday as temps drop hard Sunday.

Looking at everything, there are a few reasons why Killington has no push to open up this weekend.

1 - The opening date is already in the books as the 2nd, and bragging rights are done.

2 - No other ski area in the Northeast will be open this weekend, so no real push to make snow that will melt-off

Shitty, but the random weathher this fall is crappy for early season openings.

Hey, just think of it this way...

The weather just wants you to do well academically!

Huge bummer though because it's going to rain over an inch the next few days.

I'm crossing my fingers for the cold coming in quicker on Saturday. The forecasted high is just 42 at 3200', and if the cold air can work in a bit quicker, it could mean some snow up high. I'm certainly not counting on it though.

Temps for next week look incredible though.

me and brogan have nothing to do this weekend. is it worth coming up to killy? do they have a small park? and how many trails are open. And whats the deal with mount snow. are they open or what.

if someone could PM that would be dope.

Word from here as of 4pm is Thursday re-opening with 8 total trails, and at minimum, 4 park features on Reason.
