Superstar rail park? I wish they still kept it open until closing day.

I think with the woodward they may try and keep something up. They didn’t rly get the chance to last year if they were planning it. I personally think they should put a magic carpet next to the pipe and push all of dream maker to there and have a park setup there. Doubt it’d happen they don’t make really any money with spring skiing as is

^ Fax...Funny too when parks end up posting that "today will be our last day for park laps" so many people get heated on insta. Like it's not park crews choice to close up shop lol. Makes sense, mountain's trying to save some payroll cash by laying crews off once spring hits even tho it's best time of the year.

Killi is lucky their park supervisor and some crew are also part of their bike park team from what Ik. They keep them around all year long. If management would let them I think those guys would put up a park till close

But it's not like people are flaming park staff specifically for not keeping parks open longer. Mostly voicing frustration that parks close too early. I haven't done it much but any time I have was with hopes that management and marketing sees people wanting to spend money in order to ski the only open park left in the East.

No one is calling park staffers lazy for not keeping the parks open late, or so I'd hope.

If management/marketing doesn't know much about park then they probably aren't reading instagram comments, best bet is to email them directly in a professional manner.

dont get me wrong making some noise is better then nothing, but directing it at the people making decisions is probably more productive

Since the pipe faces directly south I bet it's hard to keep snow there for long. That's what so dank about superstar. North east facing

Forgot about that. Gosh spring pipe and stashmaker laps are so fun.

You're probably right. I will say that I have a hard time believing their marketing team isn't reading comments, especially if the same kind of comments are being left across all pages.

"Keep parks open" is a pretty easy concept for a non skier to grasp. I get if they don't know what to think when someone is demanding a specific type of feature tho.

Wait are you guys for real? Last time I went to Killy two years ago, they had like three top-tier parks. What happened?

When did you go two years ago? Mid Winter? They still have plenty of awesome parks, but its almost May. They could have more setup now, but its better than nothing.

Any time that I have been to Killington in the spring I've found the parks to be the most empty runs on the hill so I find this shit funny. Same goes for my local, pretty sure most of the people complaining go twice a year in February, like fuck it's not like you were going anyways.

I was there is late February. Most fun I had in a park was the Darkstar hike park. That place is sick. Killington didn’t have much for parks besides the peace park and dream maker. I expected Woodward to be sick but there was nothing there.

they still do have insane parks but it’s late april and we’ve had a decent amount of rain and warm weather so dreammaker and the stash have been done for a few weeks and peace park was done last friday. but they came up with a whole new place they’ve never had a park before next to superstar and put a few rails.

Why does killington stay open longer than most of the resorts in the west, that's wack

Killi being the beast of the east kinda has to keep that reputation and do that by having the longest season. They open sometimes as early as October and close as late as June. They have a short lift up at the top. They blow snow on really early. And superstar which stays open the latest is lined with snow makers. They blow easily 20ft of snow across that run. It’s really quite impressive how much snow is in that run. Skiing it mid winter is weird with all the snow on it.
